Azur Promilia is about to officially launch!
(Although the developers have not yet announced the exact azur promilia release date or platforms, closed beta players have already gotten an early look.)
Developed by Manjuu, the studio behind Azur Lane, this brand-new open-world RPG has been generating buzz ever since its closed beta.
For many new players, the biggest questions are: How do you actually play the game? What sets Azur Promilia apart from other RPGs? How should you start building your characters and your Kibo from day one?
This guide is here to give you a complete beginner’s walkthrough — from your very first steps in Azur Promilia all the way to advanced tips and strategies, all in one place.

Azur Promilia Gameplay: First Steps
When you first enter the game, you’ll begin with character creation — from customizing your appearance to choosing your adventurer identity, with plenty of details to tweak.
After creating your character, the system will guide you through a beginner tutorial, introducing the core gameplay mechanics of Azur Promilia: movement, basic attacks, dodging, counterattacks, and more.
What really stands out, though, is that on your very first day you’ll meet the soul of the game — Kibo. These companions aren’t just pets; they fight alongside you in battle and can even help produce resources in your homestead. To capture them, you’ll need to use Starlink Cards, making this one of the first essential skills every beginner should learn.
Kibo Types and Battle Roles
Type | Role / Positioning | Recommended Team Synergy |
---|---|---|
Assault | Main damage dealer | Pair with Fortress-type Kibo to draw aggro and keep damage output safe. |
Fortress | Defense / Taunt | Best for protecting Assault or Healer-type Kibo. |
Healer | Recovery & sustain | Combine with Assault or AoE damage dealers to keep the team alive longer. |
Support | Buffs / Crowd Control | Provides boosts or control effects, enhancing overall team efficiency. |
This chart helps beginners quickly understand the roles of different Kibo and build a well-balanced team. By combining complementary types, you can avoid the common pitfalls of relying too heavily on fragile attackers or lacking proper support.

Gacha System & Progression
Azur Promilia features a beginner-friendly gacha system with a pity mechanic.
- The base SSR drop rate is 1%.
- If you don’t pull an SSR within 66 attempts, the probability gradually increases.
- By the 73rd pull, an SSR is guaranteed.
💡 Tip for beginners: Save up for ten-pull draws — it’s more efficient and increases your chances of triggering the pity system.
Both characters and Kibo require progression:
- Characters gain experience through battles and quests, and can enhance attributes or unlock new skills using Astral Blessings.
- Kibo bond levels increase through combat, with some capable of evolving into stronger forms.
- Your homestead (farms and workshops) can automatically generate resources, becoming a crucial time-saving system later in the game.
Day 1 Beginner’s Checklist
✅ Complete the tutorial – Learn basic controls and unlock your first Kibo.
✅ Establish your base – Build farms and workshops to start producing materials.
✅ Capture Kibo – Form at least one balanced team (Defense, DPS, Support).
✅ Explore the map – Purify your first Starvein Node and unlock a fast travel point.
✅ Do daily missions – Just 10 minutes a day provides valuable resources and XP.

Beginner Tips & Pitfalls to Avoid
- Focus Your Resources – Prioritize building up your main team instead of spreading materials evenly.
- Homestead First – Build farms and workshops early so you won’t run short on materials later.
- Kibo Bonds – Fighting alongside Kibo raises bond levels, unlocking useful skills.
- Gacha Strategy – Save for ten-pull draws to maximize efficiency and take advantage of pity mechanics.
- Daily Missions – Just 10 minutes a day provides steady rewards and experience.
