Chaos Zero Nightmare January Update Patch – Everything You Need To Know

Season 1 Ending & Pre-Season Update

With the release of the Chaos Zero Nightmare update, the 1st season of the Galactic Disaster – Forbidden Catalyst will end, and with it the event exchange shop will also end. Any event currencies gained during the 1st Season of Galactic Disaster won’t be able to be spent the event currencies on any event shops anymore.

Additionally, every content from the event exclusive Chaos – Laboratory 0 will be added permanently into the Permanent Codex feature, where players can challenge the Event Chaos again and obtain the event equipment and cards like usual, allowing you to build characters with the event equipment with no problems.

The event’s special Dimensional Tunnel effect and other important features like Forbidden Equipment and Forbidden Cards have also been added permanently into other Chaos as well, allowing players to diversify their builds regardless of any Chaos they choose to build their characters in. Additionally, the event’s story has also been added to the story tab of the game, allowing players to read and fight the fights within them to obtain first clear rewards and find out more about characters such as Yuki, Chizuru, Sereniel and the brand new Narja.

This January Update serves as a pre-season update between the end of season 1 and season 2 and will last for 21 days until the start of Season 2 in February.

Brand New Combatant – Narja

The more attack cards are used, the more damage she increases for the attack cards and the more often she heals. When Narja has Predation, whenever she consumes Voracity, she will further boost the damage output of attack cards.

Brand New Gamemode – Spiral Tower of Screams

The main attraction of this special update patch for the pre-season is the introduction of a brand new endgame mode in the form of the special Spiral Tower of Screams.

In the Spiral Tower of Screams gamemode, players will be required to use special teams to challenge the tower’s many floors in order to reach checkpoints and obtain special rewards for each floor checkpoint they cleared. 

Spiral Tower of Screams are divided into 150 different floors, each with their own waves of enemies that players have to defeat in order to advance further into the tower and obtain rewards. There will be checkpoints for every 5 floors cleared during the tower climb and if players do not reach the checkpoint, their progress will not be saved and they won’t be able to obtain the rewards. The goal for the gamemode is to use different team comps to challenge 5 waves of enemies in succession at a time in order to obtain the checkpoint rewards and advance in the tower as far as possible.

For the 2026 January update, the tower will be opened as a Beta version and will allow players to challenge up to floor 50 to obtain the tower’s rewards. Every week, players will have up to 5 chances to challenge the tower, with each chance being decreased whenever they reach a checkpoint or suffer defeat while challenging the floors, meaning players can get to floor 50 for the tower after 2 weeks during the update patch’s duration.
