How to Unlock Characters for a Team

Duet Night Abyss won’t lock your progress behind gacha luck. You don’t need  random pulls to build a good team. By playing normally, doing events, and using in-game systems, you can unlock strong characters for free.

You’ll unlock most Duet Night Abyss characters through the Secret Letter System. Just play the game, collect Clues and trade them for character Letters to farm “Thoughts” and recruit them. 

You can also get new characters from the ongoing events. These are free launch characters,  so you don’t need to spend anything to unlock them. Make sure to collect them, because they are some of the strongest characters here, and can really help you progress faster.  Make sure to prioritize Berenica, Rebecca, and Outsider for a stable core team, then add Daphne & Lisbell or Psyche, Fina to fill gaps in roles and synergy. 

Team Building Rules

Building the right team in Duet Night Abyss makes a huge difference in how smoothly you progress. A good team usually has 1-2 DPS and 1-2 support characters. Try to use heroes with matching elements so you get bonus effects and can hit enemy weakness easier.

Select Your Main DPS Character

Your Main DPS is the character who deals most of  the damage in battle. They will be on the field the longest and decide your team’s overall playstyle. A main DPS handles the majority of your damage output, stays active on the field for most of the fight and sets the pace of combat (melee, ranged, burst , or sustained damage)

Add a Healer (For Survival & Stability)

A healer keeps your team alive so your DPS can stay aggressive. Without a healer, battles become riskier especially in long stages and boss fights. Usually a healer,

• Restores HP during and after fights
• Provides shields or defensive buffs.

Select a Sub – DPS

Your sub-DPS fills the gaps your team needs. They may add extra damage, elemental coverage, crowd control, or buffs that make your main DPS stronger. Choose a Sub DPS that complements your main DPS either by boosting damage or covering their weaknesses.

Always Use the Element Advantage

In Duet Night Abyss using the correct element is not optional but it directly multiplies your damage. When you attack an enemy with the element they are weak to, you deal 400% more damage. If you use any other element, your damage drops to 50%, even with strong characters. Here are how elements works with each other: 

• Hydro beats Pyro
• Pyro beats Anemo
• Anemo beats Electro
• Electro beats Hydro
• Lumino and Umbro only counter each other.

Note that using the wrong element against the enemies will make fights slower, weaker, and much harder.
