Honkai Star Rail 3.8 First Phase Banners – Which Banner To Roll On
The first phase of Honkai Star Rail Version Update 3.8 will start on the 17th of December, 2025 and last until the 7th of January, 2026. The first phase banners will feature the brand new 5-star Fire Nihility Character The Dahlia and the returning 5-star Fire Destruction Character Firefly alongside their signature Lightcones.
The Dahlia
Making her debut in Honkai Star Rail version 3.8, The Dahlia is a 5-star character of the Fire Element and Nihility Path that specializes in providing massive supporting effects for different Break teams. Most importantly, The Dahlia allows Break teams to deal Super Break damage against enemies that have yet to be weakness broken while also boosting the damage output of break teams against weakness broken enemies. The Dahlia can also serve as the team’s sub DPS with her frequent Follow Up Attacks.

The Dahlia’s main gimmick lies in her Skill, Talent and Additional Ability. The Dahlia’s Skill set up a special Zone that increases the weakness break efficiency of the entire team while also allowing the team to deal Super Break Damage to enemies even if they have yet to have their weakness bar broken. Her talent allows her to designate the ally with the highest Break Effect as her Dance Partner, allowing them to deal additional Super Break Damage instances on Weakness Broken enemies and providing them with energy. Finally, The Dahlia’s bonus abilities help the entire team to gain a large amount of Break Effect based on her own Break Effect stat while also recovering the team’s Skill point when she triggers her Follow Up Attack.
Pull Rating: 8/10. A Good Break Team Support And Enabler.
The Dahlia is an extremely good Break Team Support thanks to her powerful skill kit that provides massive benefits for different break teams, especially the Firefly Break team. However, she is only viable as a character on Break Teams and can’t be used on any other teams, which limits her usability if players do not have enough characters to form good break teams. Only roll on The Dahlia if players intend on investing on Break Teams for the long-term.
Firefly
Firefly is a 5-star Fire Element character of the Destruction Path. She serves as the Break Team’s best Main DPS Hypercarry character with her immensely powerful skill kit that allows her to deal massive amounts of Super Break Damage on all enemies.

Firefly’s gameplay is relatively simple: generate enough energy for her to activate her Ultimate, then use her enhanced Skill during her Ultimate to deal as much Weakness and Super Break Damage on enemies as possible by implanting them with the Fire Weakness and reducing their Weakness Bar as quickly as possible. Firefly’s damage window heavily relies on the duration of her Ultimate, which requires her to have as much speed as possible to cycle her actions. However, while her Ultimate is active, Firefly is essentially the strongest Break Main DPS Hypercarry character in a Break team.
Pull Rating: 9/10. An Excellent Break Main Hypercarry DPS.
Firefly is the Break team’s most powerful Hypercarry Main DPS and one of the main characters players should roll for if you want to invest in a Break Team. Firefly by herself deals decent enough damage, however, with a good enough Break Team, she can compete with all of the best meta DPS characters in the game like Castorice and Phainon with no problem. The only thing holding her back is the heavy investment players will need to make to form a good Break Team.
The Dahlia Signature Lightcone

Effect: Increases the wearer’s Break Effect by 60%. When entering combat, increases Break DMG dealt by the wearer and another teammate who triggered combat by 32%. If there is no teammate who triggered combat, apply this effect to the wearer and the teammate with the highest Break Effect. Effects of the same type cannot be stacked. When the wearer applies Weakness to an enemy target, recovers 1 Skill Point. This effect can only trigger once, and trigger count resets when using Ultimate.
Pull Rating: 8/10 For The Dahlia. 5/10 For Others
The Dahlia’s signature Lightcone allows her to grant both herself and the main DPS a hefty Break Effect boost while also allowing her to recover the team’s Skill Point whenever she applies weakness on the enemy. Generally speaking, this lightcone serves mainly as a stat stick with an effect that only The Dahlia can take advantage of.
For other characters, due to how Break Effect is a niche stat and the effect can’t be used by any other characters, it is not really a good Lightcone to roll for.
Firefly Signature Lightcone

Effect: Increases the wearer’s Break Effect by 60% . When the wearer deals Break DMG to an enemy target, inflicts Routed on the enemy, lasting for 2 turn(s). Targets afflicted with Routed receive 24% increased Break DMG from the wearer, and their SPD is lowered by 20%. Effects of the same type cannot be stacked.
Pull Rating: 10/10 For Firefly. 4/10 For Other Characters.
Firefly’s signature Lightcone that boosts her damage massively by providing her with a massive Break Effect boost in addition to making all enemies take more Break Damage from the team, perfect for Firefly.
For other characters, due to Break Effect being a niche stat that no other Destruction characters can use, this lightcone is not useful for any characters other than Firefly.

Honkai Star Rail 3.8 Second Phase Banners – Which Banner To Roll On
The second phase banners for Honkai Star Rail version 3.8 will start on the 7th of January and last until the 28th of January, 2026. The 2nd phase will feature the returning 5-star Fire Nihility Character Fugue and the returning 5-star Fire Abundance Character Lingsha, alongside their signature Lightcones.
Fugue
Fugue is a 5-star Fire Element character of the Nihility Path. She specializes in supporting the Break Team as a Sub DPS/ Support character by granting the team a special effect: a fake Break Bar on enemies.

Fugue’s Skill allows her to buff an ally with her powerful supportive buff, granting them a Break Effect boost in addition to increasing their Weakness Break Efficiency. While Fugue is on the field, when allies break the weakness bar of the enemies, an additional weakness bar will be applied to the enemies, allowing the team to deal even more Break damage to enemies when they break the second bar. Additionally, while she is on the field, Fugue makes it so that all Break Damage instances dealt to Weakness Broken enemies are considered Super Break damage, helping to boost the overall damage of Break Teams.
Pull Rating: 8/10. A Strong Break Support.
Similar to The Dahlia, Fugue is a very strong Break team support that should be pulled if players intend on investing on a proper Break team due to her immensely powerful buffs. The Dahlia and Fugue together can help elevate the Break Team damage by a large margin. That being said, Fugue is extremely restrictive and can only function in a break team.
Lingsha
Lingsha is a 5-star Fire Element character of the Abundance Path. Lingsha is one of Honkai Star Rail’s most versatile characters, with her ability to become either a main DPS carry character or a Sustain healer character thanks to her immensely versatile skill kit and abilities.

Lingsha’s gimmick relies on her ability to summon her familiar on the field to deal Follow Up Attacks on all enemies, dealing Fire Elemental damage to them and healing the team. Despite this, Lingsha is actually a Break centric character with high Break efficiency and a kit that can take full advantage of Break Effect to deal massive amounts of damage to enemies when she or her familiar breaks the enemies’ weakness bar. Additionally, her Ultimate allows her to apply a debuff that makes enemies takes more Break Damage and immediately make her Familiar attack the enemies.
Pull Rating: 9/10. An Extremely Versatile Character That Can Fit in Both Follow Up Attack or Break Teams.
Due to how she can fit in both the Follow Up Attack and the Break Team, and how she can be built with a Main DPS build or a Sustain build in mind, Lingsha is one of the most versatile characters in the game. Lingsha’s versatility allows her to take on many roles in the two different teams, making her a very valuable character to have in general.
Fugue Signature Lightcone

Effect: Increases the wearer’s Break Effect by 60%. When an enemy target’s Weakness gets broken, there is a 100% base chance to inflict the “Charring” state on it, which increases its Break DMG taken by 18% , lasting for 2 turn(s). This effect can stack 2 time(s).
Pull Rating: 8/10 for Fugue. 4/10 For Others
Similar to The Dahlia’s signature Lightcone, Fugue’s signature Lightcone provides her with her much needed Break Effect stat in addition to allowing her to make all enemies take more Break Damage from the team, perfect for Fugue as a Break Support character.
For other characters, the Break Effect stat and the ligthcone’s effect is too niche, making it so that only Fugue and The Dahlia can make use of the Lightcone properly.
Lingsha Signature Lightcone

Effect: Increases the wearer’s Break Effect by 60% . After the wearer uses Ultimate to attack enemy targets, inflicts the targets with the “Woefree” state, lasting for 2 turn(s). While in “Woefree,” enemy targets take 10% increased DMG. The effect of increasing DMG taken is additionally boosted by 8% if the wearer’s current Break Effect is 150% or higher.
Pull Rating: 7/10 For Lingsha. 3/10 For Others.
Lingsha’s signature Lightcone function almost identically to Fugue’s, providing Lingsha with Break Effect stat while also allowing her to boost the Break Effect Damage taken by all enemies. That being said, due to how versatile Lingsha is and how there are other alternate options for Lingsha, her signature Lightcone is not that needed when building Lingsha.
For other characters, once again, the niche effect and the Break Effect stat of the lightcone can’t be used by any other Abundance characters, so players should not roll this Lightcone for other characters.
Honkai Star Rail 3.8 Third Phase Banners – Which Banner To Roll On
For the first time ever in Honkai Star Rail’s history, the Version 3.8 update will feature a 3rd phase, lasting from the 28th of January all the way until the 12th of February, 2026. The 3rd phase banners will feature the returning 5-star Lightning Remembrance Character Aglaea and the 5-star Imaginary Harmony character Sunday and their signature Lightcones.
Aglaea
Aglaea is a 5-star Lightning Element character of the Remembrance Path that functions as a main DPS character. Her main gimmick relies on two main things: Her Ultimate and her speed.

Aglaea’s main damage lies in her memosprite and Ultimate, which when activated, can allow Aglaea to do joint attacks with her Memosprite, dealing a high amount of normal attack damage to enemies. When her Ultimate lasts, the faster Aglaea is, the more action she will take and the more speed she will gain from her joint attack, allowing her to attack constantly until her Ultimate duration runs out.
Pull Rating: 7/10. A Decent But Flawed DPS Character
While is a decently strong main DPS character with high damage potential, Aglaea is immensely held back by her playstyle. Due to her high energy requirement and the fact that she relies on speed, players will need to invest in her speed to allow her to take actions more frequently and invest less in her offensive stats, making her damage suffer overall. Additionally, she needs a lot of strong dedicated supports with correct builds to truly shine, making her a very costly character to invest in for slightly lower returns than other main DPS characters.
Sunday
Sunday is a 5-star character of the Imaginary Element and Harmony Path. He is one of the most sought after and easy to use universal support characters in the game.

Sunday’s skill kit allows him to increase an ally’s Critical stats, the amount of damage they deal (greatly enhanced if the ally has a summon or memosprite), generates large amounts of energy for the ally and helps to action forward the ally so that they can act faster. These abilities make Sunday one of the best support in the game due to how universally useful these buff effects are.
Pull Rating: 10/10. One of the game’s best Universal Support Characters.
Sunday’s skill kit is so universally beneficial that he can be used in a lot of different team comps and will most likely be a very sound investment for the future due to how effective he is. Therefore, if players want a support character, then rolling for Sunday is a very good investment to make.
Aglaea Signature Lightcone

Effect: Increases the wearer’s base SPD by 12 . After the wearer and the wearer’s memosprite attacks, the wearer gains 1 stack of “Brocade.” Each stack of “Brocade” increases the wearer and their memosprite’s CRIT DMG by 9% , stacking up to 6 time(s). When reaching maximum stacks, each “Brocade” stack will additionally increase Basic ATK DMG dealt by 9% .
Pull Rating: 10/10 For Aglaea. 5/10 For Others
Aglaea’s signature lightcone boost her speed, increase both her and her memosprite’s critical damage while also providing a damage buff in general, helping to massively improve Aglaea’s overall damage output and rotation, making it crucial for Aglaea to have.
For other characters, the Lightcone’s effects are too specific and niche to be used effectively by other Remembrance characters, making it less desirable to roll for.
Sunday Signature Lightcone

Effect: After the wearer uses Skill or Ultimate on one ally character, the wearer regenerates 6 Energy and the ability’s target receives 1 stack of “Hymn” for 3 turn(s), stacking up to 3 time(s). Each stack of “Hymn” increases its holder’s DMG dealt by 15%. After every 2 instance(s) of Skill or Ultimate the wearer uses on one ally character, recovers 1 Skill Point.
Pull Rating: 10/10 For Sunday. 8/10 For Others
The Lightcone provides the user with energy whenever they use their Skill and Ultimate to buff an ally, helping to improve the Ultimate cycle in addition to helping to boost the damage dealt by the buffed ally. These effects are perfect for Sunday.
Similar to Sunday himself, his lightcone is so universally useful that it can be used by any Harmony characters that can use Ultimate and Skills that target allies.
