Punishing Gray Raven Best Elemental Teams
Elemental teams in Punishing Gray Raven are divided into 6 different teams, each with their own gimmicks and are good when up against bosses that are weak to each element. Elemental teams are straight forward in that all of the Constructs in the game mainly deal damage in 1 single elemental type, making it easier to categorize and slot them in the different elemental teams.
The 6 elemental teams in Punishing Gray Raven are: Lightning, Ice, Fire, Dark,Physical and Nihil
Best Lightning Team
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| Liv: Limpidity | No.21: Feral | Nanami: Startrail |
| Blue | Red | Yellow |
| Attacker (Leader) | Amplifier | Tank |
The lightning team right now mainly revolves around the 2 main DPS and sub DPS character of Liv:Limpidity and Nanami:Startrail, with Liv:Limpidity serving as the main on-field DPS and is supplemented with Nanami:Startrail’s damage output upon finishing her damage rotation. No.21 Feral serves as the team’s buffer and QTE bot to provide the team with Lightning damage amplification buffs.
Generally speaking, Liv: Limpidity can be replaced with Lucia: Crimson Weave if you don’t have her at a high investment level. However, in that case, Nanami: Startrail will serve as the main DPS on field character instead.
Best Ice Team
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| Ayla:Kaleido | Qu:Shukra | Wanshi: Lucid Dreamer |
| Blue | Red | Yellow |
| Amplifier | Attacker (Leader) | Tank |
The Ice team revolves around alternating between Wanshi: Lucid Dreamer and Qu:Shukra as the on field DPS to deal as much Ice damage to enemies as possible by consuming 3-ping orbs. Due to how both characters work, alternating them on the field as the main DPS is the preferable playstyle. Ayla: Kaleido once again functions as an off field QTE bot to provide amplification buff for the team.
Qu:Shukra mainly serves as the team’s main DPS option when she is on field. However, due to how much orbs she consumes to activate her ultimate and deal big damage, if you don’t have enough orbs for her to fully activate her Ultimate or if you mess up her rotation, it is best to switch her off the field right away. This is the same for Wanshi: Lucid Dreamer as his playstyle is difficult to get used to at first despite being able to deal massive amounts of damage. Wanshi: Lucid Dreamer can serve as the team’s Main DPS if you are comfortable with his damage rotation.
Best Fire Team
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| Lucia: Pyroath | Vera: Geiravoir | Watanabe: Epitaph |
| Blue | Red | Yellow |
| Attacker (Leader) | Amplifier | Tank |
The Fire team function similarly to the Lightning team, with the 2 main DPS characters being Lucia: Pyroath and Watanabe: Epitaph. Vera: Geiravoir serves as the team’s QTE bot and buffer.
The fire team’s main rotation revolves around letting Watanabe: Epitaph be the first on field DPS character to shred enemies’ defenses with his extremely easy to use skill kit first and clear small waves of enemies. Then players will switch to Lucia: Pyroath to deal with more difficult enemies. Please keep in mind that Lucia: Pyroath’s skill kit is extremely bothersome to use and require you to have mastery over it to be able to dish out big damage, so players should aim to do the Lucia: Pyroath damage rotation as quickly as possible to maximize her damage output.
Best Dark Team
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| Karenina: Scire | Lilith: Daemonissa | Bianca: Crepuscule |
| Blue | Red | Yellow |
| Tank | Amplifier | Attacker (Leader) |
Functioning a bit differently from other teams, the Dark team can be used in 2 ways: either you play it with Bianca: Crepuscule being the sole on-field Main DPS Hypercarry, or you alternate between Bianca: Crespuscule and Lilith: Daemonissa as the on field DPS character. Karenina serves as the team’s QTE bot and only appears occasionally to shred enemies’ defenses.
At high level investment, Bianca: Crepuscule can entirely function as the team’s hypercarry due to how her skill kit works, allowing her to permanently stay on field while dealing big damage to enemies and relegate the other characters as QTE bots. However, at a lower investment level, players should alternate between her and Lilith: Daemonissa as the main on field DPS since Lilith can also deal big damage and crowd control enemies. This team’s damage output suffers solely due to how old Karenina:Scire and her effects are, dragging down the overall damage output of the team.
Best Physical Team
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| Veronica: Aegis | Hanying: Solacetune | Selena: Pianissimo |
| Blue | Red | Yellow |
| Amplifier | Tank | Attacker (Leader) |
The Physical Team function similarly to the Fire and Lightning team, with dual DPS characters being Hanying: Solacetune and Selena: Pianissimo. Veronica: Aegis is the team’s main QTE bot with her ability to heal, provide amplification buff and most importantly, boost the critical chance of the entire team to 100%.
The team revolves around switching between Hanying: Solacetune and Selena: Pianissimo as the main on field DPS, with both of them being able to do at least 2 full damage rotations before switching to the other to maximize the team’s damage output.
Best Nihil Team
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| Luna: Oblivion | Vera: Geravoir | Ishmael: Parhelion |
| Blue | Red | Yellow |
| Annihilator (Leader) | Amplifier | Observer |
The nihil team in the game currently revolves around 2 main characters: Luna:Oblivion and Ishmael: Parhelion, with both of them being able to become the main on-field DPS carry of the team. The last slot of the team is reserved for an Amplifier Construct of any other elements, as long as they are heavily invested in.
Due to the characteristic of Ishmael: Parhelion’s class, her effects will change between being an Amplifier or a Tank character depending on the class of the last member on the team, making her extremely versatile. However, due to the lack of a Nihil Tank, it is extremely recommended that the last slot in the team should be an Amplifier to allow Ishmael: Parhelion to take the Tank position and become the team’s sub on-field DPS. Luna: Oblivion is the team’s main on-field DPS with her ability allowing her to convert all other allies’ elemental damage to Nihil.
Punishing Gray Raven Best Affix Teams
Affixes in Punishing Gray Raven are special secondary effects that each new generation of constructs can activate to change their elemental damage into affix damage. Different Affix damage are effective against different bosses in the game.
However, please note that, unlike elemental damage where the characters will automatically deal upon doing their combo, affix damage will need certain setups in order to activate and most often than not will alter how a construct is played. Therefore, different affix teams will function vastly different from the usual Elemental teams. There are 5 main Affix teams right now: Ultima Slash, Plasma Beam, Glaciation, Ignition, Darkflow.
Best Ultima Slash Team
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| Veronica: Aegis | Hanying: Solacetune | Vergil |
| Blue | Red | Yellow |
| Amplifier | Tank | Attacker (Leader) |
The Ultima Slash revolves around the main on-field DPS being Vergil and the main enabler being Hanying:Solacetune. The goal of the Ultima Slash team is to accumulate as many Ultima Slash stacks as possible using Hanying: Solacetune’s damage rotation and then spend them all with Vergil’s damage rotation. The more Ultima Slash stacks are accumulated, the more Ultima Slash Damage Vergil will deal. Veronica: Aegis serves as an amplifier to help boost the overall damage of the team.
Best Plasma Beam Team
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| Nanami: Startrail | Lilith: Daemonissa | Lucia: Pyroath |
| Blue | Red | Yellow |
| Tank | Amplifier | Attacker (Leader) |
To enable team Plasma Beam team, players will need to use Lilith: Daemonissa as the main enabler and Lucia: Pyroath as the main DPS. This team can only function once Lilith: Daemonissa enables the Plasma Beam field effect with her alternate damage rotation, which has a set duration. Upon finishing setting up Plasma Beam field, all of Lucia: Pyroath skills and abilities will be altered to deal Plasma Beam damage, with her damage rotation being changed as well, making her the main DPS of the team. Nanami: Startrail is used as the team’s tank due to Plasma Beam still benefits from Lightning Damage resistance reduction.
Best Glaciation Team
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| Alisa: Echo | Wanshi: Lucid Dreamer | Selena: Pianissimo |
| Blue | Red | Yellow |
| Amplifier | Tank | Attacker (Leader) |
The Glaciation team’s main goal is to start the Glaciation field and maintain the field for as long as possible to convert the entire team’s damage into Glaciation damage. To achieve this, players will need to alternate between all 3 characters as the on field damage dealer to maintain the Glaciation field for as long as possible, with Alisa: Echo being the enabler and both Wanshi: Lucid Dreamer and Selena: Pianissimo needing to complete their damage rotation fully when on field.
Best Ignition Team
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| Dante | Nanami: Startrail | Veronica: Aegis |
| Blue | Red | Yellow |
| Attacker (Leader) | Tank | Amplifier |
The ignition team functions by inflicting as many Ignition debuff stacks on enemies as possible before detonating them with special skill and abilities from both Dante and Nanami: Startrail. To maximize the team’s damage output, players can use either Dante or Nanami:Startrail’s damage rotation to inflict as much Ignition stacks on the enemies as quickly as possible, before using the one with the higher investment level to detonate the debuff, dealing as much Ignition damage to enemies as possible.
Best Dark Flow Team
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| Liv: Limpidity | Vera: Geiravoir | Watanabe: Epitaph |
| Blue | Red | Yellow |
| Attacker (Leader) | Amplifier | Tank |
The Dark Flow team functions by dealing damage to enemies using either Vera: Geiravoir or Watanabe: Epitaph to fill up the Darkflow gauge. Once the gauge is filled, a special Darkflow field will be deployed, dealing periodic damage and debuffing the enemies, as well as converting all damage to Darkflow damage. Once this is achieved, switch to Liv: Limpidity to take full advantage of this damage conversion effect and debuff to deal as much Darkflow damage as possible to the enemies.
