From the highly anticipated arrival of Alice to the 2.2 version livestream preview, this month offers plenty of opportunities to strengthen your account, earn Polychromes, and plan your pulls. Here is a complete overview of everything coming in August.
Monthly Shop Reset – August 1
On the first of every month, all in-game shops reset. The Signal Search Shop allows you to redeem 5 Encrypted Master Tapes and 5 Original Master Tapes—equivalent to 10 free pulls.
The Logistics Shop also refreshes, with new stock including development materials and another Original Master Tape. Don’t forget to redeem before progressing too far into the month.
HoYoLAB Daily Sign-In
August also brings a new month of sign-in rewards via HoYoLAB. By logging in daily, players can receive up to 60 Polychromes along with valuable character and gear upgrade resources. It’s an easy and consistent way to build your inventory.
Hollows Defense Updates – August 1, 15, and 29
Throughout the month, three phases of the Hollows Defense event in Version 2.1 will roll out. Each phase provides a maximum of 720 Polychromes if completed in full.
- August 1: Buffs support Physical and Ether characters, including Alice, Grace, and Rina.
- August 15: Buffs benefit Physical and Electric abnormal characters, such as Alice, Grace, and Von Lycaon.
- August 29: Buffs once again focus on Physical and Electric traits, which is advantageous for Alice, Grace, Von Lycaon, and even Nicole’s Zero version.
Alice Banner Launch – August 6
Version 2.1’s second phase introduces Alice, a new Physical Abnormal main DPS agent. Her kit is flexible and can work with sub-DPS characters like Vivian, or even run as a solo carry. If your team lacks a strong Physical damage dealer, Alice is worth considering.
Additionally, her outfit “Sea of Thyme” will be available in the shop. Save your Film Negatives in advance if you plan to purchase it.

Ghost Ship Adventure
A side-scrolling combat experience that grants Polychrome and valuable materials upon completion.
Hazard Rush – August 8 and August 22
Each Hazard Rush phase provides up to 300 Polychromes for clearing up to 6 stars, with optional challenges to push for 9 stars or a total score of 65,000.
Jojo’s Space Mystery – August 13
Use visual tools to investigate signs of alien life. This story-driven side activity rewards players with Polychrome and materials.
Summer Puzzle Event – August 20
A relaxing puzzle event returns. Complete all jigsaw pieces to receive additional Polychrome rewards.
Version 2.2 Preview Livestream – August 22
The official preview for Version 2.2 will air on August 22. This livestream will reveal full details about upcoming characters Sid and Ophelie, including their mechanics and team roles.
A limited-time redemption code worth 300 Polychromes will also be announced during the stream. Be sure to redeem it quickly, as the code typically expires within 24 hours.
Ahead of Version 2.2, satellite teasers for Version 2.3 characters will be shared. Likely candidates based on in-game lore and recent events include:
- Shinobu Komano: Rumored to be implemented as an S-rank character following his success in the story’s ranking trials.
- Rabbit-Eared Girl (Tōto): A new character with pink hair and a large battle axe. Despite her cute appearance, she is expected to be highly combat capable.
- Delusional Angel: The Virtual Idol faction may soon be playable, as a member was teased during the current summer event.
Simulation Training Double Drop – August 27
The Simulation Room will receive a double drop boost starting August 27. This is the perfect time to farm upgrade materials for Sid, Ophelie, and other upcoming characters before Version 2.2 officially goes live.
