Honkai Star Rail 4.3 1st Phase Banners – Who To Roll For

The first phase of the 4.3 for Honkai Star Rail will begin on the 1st of June and last for a total of 3 weeks, with 4 different banners on rate up, featuring the Brand new 5-Star Fire Nihility character Mortenax Blade and the returning 5-Star Physical Elation character Yao Guang

Mortenax Blade

Mortenax Blade is a 5-star character of the Fire Element and follows the path of Nihility. He offers the team immense debuff effects that massively boost the damage the entire deal to the enemies while also helping boost the team’s ultimate and follow up attack damage through various conditions. Additionally, he can function as a practically immortal taunt sustain for various teams.

Honkai Star Rail 4.3 Mortenax Blade

Mortenax Blade’s skill kit makes him a very strong debuffer support character capable of both reducing the enemies’ defenses and making them take more damage while also being able to supplement the team’s overall damage output and sustain the team with his effects that make him functionally immortal.

Mortenax Blade main utility and effects lies in his Ultimate and 3rd Bonus Ability, which allows him to set up a powerful zone that massively reduces enemies’ defenses while also boosting the damage they take from all allies. Additionally, when going alongside a team with an additional Nihility character, Mortenax Blade can buff the Ultimate Damage of all allies by a massive 50%. If the team doesn’t have an additional Nihility character instead, Mortenax Blade will increase the entire team’s Follow Up Attack damage, making him suitable to be a very strong support and debuffer for both the Debuff Nihility team and any Follow Up Attack teams.

Additionally, Mortenax Blade has the ability to be functionally immortal due to his special ability to activate and deactivate his zone. By activating his zone, Blade can enter an enhanced state that massively deals damage to enemies and makes all enemies attack him more frequently, allowing him to gain charge and energy. If he gets a killing blow from enemies, he will automatically exit the zone, recover 50% of his Max HP and his energy, then convert all of his excess energy into actual Ultimate energy, allowing him to immediately enter his zone again. As long as Mortenax Blade has enough energy to constantly activate his Zone, he is functionally immortal and can help to apply taunt to enemies, making them attack him more and protect the team.

Pull Rating: 9/10. A Powerful Debuffer and Support Character

Mortenax Blade’s skill kit and abilities makes him a very powerful debuffer and support character that is able to massively boost the team’s overall damage output and reduces enemies’ defenses and resistances massively while he is on the field.

He can fit in any team that requires defense reduction on enemies and damage amplification, making him a very universal character that players should have for any team.

Yaoguang

Yao Guang is a 5-Star Physical character of the Elation Path and serves as one of the most important Elation Support characters in the game thanks to her amazing ability to forcefully trigger Aha Instant with her Ultimate.

Honkai Star Rail 4.3 Yao Guang

Yao Guang’s main strong point and gimmick lies in her Skill and Ultimate, which provides massive amounts of powerful support effects to Elation teams by simply having her in the team. Yao Guang’s Skill allows her to grant the entire team a massive boost in Elation Damage and help to allow the team to ignore a portion of the enemies’ resistances. Upon using her Ultimate, Yao Guang will forcefully trigger a special Aha Instant with a fixed 20 Punchlines taken into account, allowing her to trigger the entire team’s Elation Skill to deal additional damage. Yao Guang’s Elation Skill can also inflict Vulnerability on all enemies, making them take more damage overall by the team.

Pull Rating: 9/10. A Core Support Character For Any Elation Team.

As the majority of Elation team’s main gimmick and abilities heavily relies on their ability to deal Elation damage and triggering Aha Instant, Yao Guang’s skill kit and effects makes her an essential support character for any Elation team that wants to optimize the team’s overall damage output.

If players want to invest in a proper Elation team, having Yao Guang is a must as she massively improves the team’s overall damage output and rotation to a massive degree.

Mortenax Blade Signature Lightcone

Honkai Star Rail 4.3 Mortenax Blade Lightcone

Effect: Increases the wearer’s Max HP by 30%. At the start of the wearer’s turn, regenerates a fixed amount of 20 Energy. This effect can trigger 1 time each wave. After the wearer uses Skill to attack, inflicts the target with the “Purgatory” state, lasting for 2 turn(s). While in the “Purgatory” state, the target receives 30% increased CRIT DMG and 30% additionally increased CRIT DMG from the wearer.

Pull Rating: 10/10 For Mortenax Blade. 5/10 For Others.

For Mortenax Blade, this Lightcone is everything he needs packed into 1, with it providing him with massive amounts of Max HP, allowing him to generate much needed Energy and massively improves his Ultimate damage output against enemies.

For others, this lightcone can be used for any characters that want to deal as much Ultimate damage as possible against enemies, however, no other Nihility characters can make full use of the stats this Lightcone provides.

Yao Guang Signature Lightcone

Honkai Star Rail 4.3 Yao Guang Lightcone

Effect: Increases the wearer’s SPD by 18%. When the wearer enters combat or uses Ultimate on an ally target, the wearer gains “Great Fortune” for 3 turn(s). While the wearer holds “Great Fortune,” all allies’ CRIT Rate increases by 10%, CRIT DMG increases by 30%, and the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate increases by 12%.

At the start of each wave, the wearer regenerates a fixed amount of 15 Energy.

Pull Rating: 10/10 For Yao Guang. 3/10 For Others.

Yao Guang’s Signature Lightcone is an important Lightcone for her to have, boosting her overall Speed and support effects to the maximum while also fixing her important Energy Problems, allowing her to use her Ultimate much more efficiently.

For others, this lightcone can only function as a speed stat stick. However, since other Elation characters don’t really care much for Speed and can’t trigger the rest of the Lightcone’s effects, getting this Lightcone for others is not recommended.

Honkai Star Rail 4.3 2nd Phase Banners – Who To Roll For

The second phase of the 4.3 Update Patch for Honkai Star Rail will also last for 21 days, starting from the end of the first phase banners and lasting until the end of the update patch. This phase features 4 featured banners, with the return of 2 old characters: the 5-Star Physical Destruction Character Phainon and the 5-Star Remembrance Character Cyrene.

Phainon

Phainon is a 5-star character of the Destruction Path and Physical Element. He embodies the concept of a hypercarry main DPS character in the team by removing all allies in the team to enter his solo mode upon using his Ultimate to deal with all enemies by himself.

Honkai Star Rail 4.3 Phainon

Phainon is one of the most unique main DPS character in Honkai Star Rail with a skill kit that embodies the concept of the Hypercarry main DPS character.

Phainon’s main gameplan is relatively simple: buff Phainon with as much buffs as possible from allies, from attack buffs, damage buffs, critical stat buffs to shielding and healing to make him gain as much coreflames stacks and as much stats as possible, before using Phainon’s Ultimate to allow him to enter his Solo mode.

When in his Ultimate Mode, you have 8 turns of Phainon to deal as much damage as possible. Phainon will gain “Scourge” points when attacking in this mode, and when his “Scourge” points reaches 4, uses his enhanced active skill to nuke the enemies with as much damage as possible. After using up all his turns, Phainon will exit the Ultimate Mode, gaining back all of his teammates to allow you to buff him up again to repeat this damage cycle.

Pull Rating: 8/10. A Hypercarry DPS Character That Is Worth Investing In.

Phainon is a very strong potential Hypercarry DPS character that has the ability to clear all contents in the game when properly supported by his preferred teammates. With proper investments and teams, he can essentially solo entire endgame contents with ease.

However, his main downside is that his teammates and investment requirements are really high, with players needing to know how to properly manage him in order for him to become powerful. Therefore, only roll for Phainon if you are willing to invest fully in him.

Cyrene

Cyrene is a 5-Star Ice Elemental Character following the path of Remembrance. She specializes in amplifying the damage dealt by all allies using her Skill to supplement all allies damage with True Damage. Additionally, her main gimmick lies in her ability to buff the different Amphoreus characters in the game by giving them unique buffs based on their playstyle.

Honkai Star Rail 4.3 Cyrene

Cyrene’s most important gameplay feature that players need to optimize around is her Ultimate Charge. To use her Ultimate, Cyrene will need to get a total of 24 charges, which can be lowered thanks to her 2 Bonus abilities, granting her extra charge at battle start and charge when allies aside from her act.

Once her Ultimate is up, players will be able to use her Memosprite skill to grant allies her unique buffs if they are Chrysos Heirs. Please keep in mind that some of the unique buffs are once per battle effect and some of the unique buffs can be applied repeatedly depending on the heir.

Cyrene’s main goal on the field is to get her Ultimate up as quickly as possible by taking turns and allow others to take turns, then use her Ultimate twice in a row in order to buff the 2 most important Chrysos Heirs in the team to allow them to become stronger DPS characters. Afterward, Cyrene will take on the role of a supplemental sub DPS with the team.

Pull Rating: 8/10 For Chrysos Heir Teams. 6/10 For General Use

Cyrene functions primarily as a Chrysos Heir Support that can be slotted in many different Chrysos Heir teams as the best in slot support for these teams thanks to her powerful unique buff that she provides for the different Chrysos Heirs. Additionally, she can also be used as a utility character thanks to her ability to instantly fill all allies’ Ultimate Gauge upon activating her Ultimate for the first time.

However, Cyrene’s main drawback is her very difficult to manage Ultimate Charge, which can take a long time to charge up if she is not used in a Chrysos Heir centric team, making her set up duration extremely long. Therefore, players should only roll for Cyrene if they know fully what they are going to use her for and what teams they want to improve with her presence.

Phainon Signature Lightcone

Honkai Star Rail 4.3 Phainon Lightcone

Effect: The wearer’s base SPD increases by 12. When dealing DMG, ignores 18% of the target’s DEF. After the wearer uses Ultimate, gains “Blazing Sun,” which is removed at the start of the turn. While holding “Blazing Sun,” increases the wearer’s DMG dealt by 60%.

Pull Rating: 10/10 For Phainon. 3/10 For Others

For Phainon, as a hypercarry DPS that requires heavy investment, his signature Lightcone is a must have Lightcone if players want to optimize his damage rotation and damage output.

For others, this Lightcone doesn’t really provide any strong beneficial effects that can be considered powerful aside from the defense ignore effect and its high attack stat.

Cyrene Signature Lightcone

Honkai Star Rail 4.3 Cyrene Lightcone

Effect: Increases the wearer’s SPD by 18%. When the wearer’s memosprite uses Memosprite Skill on one ally, gains “Blank,” which increases DMG taken by all enemies by 10%. When the wearer’s memosprite uses Memosprite Skill on an enemy, gains “Verse,” which increases CRIT DMG of all allies by 16%. When the wearer’s memosprite has both “Blank” and “Verse,” increases the effects of both “Blank” and “Verse” by 60%.

Pull Rating: 10/10 For Cyrene. 5/10 For Others

Cyrene’s Signature Lightcone provides her with the ability to both boost the critical damage output of the entire team while also making all enemies take more damage, which can massively improve her overall support effect for any team.

For others, this lightcone’ effects are too specific in nature and can’t be easily fulfilled by any of the other Remembrance characters, therefore, players should only get this Lightcone if they want to use it as a stat stick.
