With the release of Wuthering Waves version 2.8 update coming around the corner for every player to enjoy, it is high time we take a look at all the rate up banners during the update patch and see which one is worth rolling on. In this guide, we will advise players on the best banners to roll on during Wuthering Waves version update 2.8 and explain why.

The first phase banners for version Update 2.8 of Wuthering Waves will last for 21 days from the start of the version update patch until December 11th, 2025. The first phase banners will feature the brand new 5-star Havoc character Chisa and the returning of the 5-star character Phoebe, alongside their signature weapons.

Chisa is the brand new 5-star character being introduced in Wuthering Waves version 2.8 and is the main attraction of the patch. She is a Havoc Resonator wielding broadblade as her main weapon and specializes in healing as well as supporting teams that can inflict negative statuses on enemies. This makes her a pioneer character for the upcoming waves of characters coming in Wuthering Waves that can inflict special brand new status effects on enemies.

Wuthering Waves Chisa

Chisa’s skill kit changes depending on her different modes, with her scissors mode allowing her to heal allies with her attacks, while her chainsaw mode being able to deal massive amounts of Havoc damage to enemies and inflict the special Havoc Bane status effects on them. Chisa’s main gimmick revolves around doing combos that let her switch between her scissors and chainsaw mode in order to quickly inflict as much damage to enemies as possible while healing the entire team. Her main damage comes from her Resonance Liberation damage, which all of her abilities’ damage output are considered as Resonance Liberation damage.

Chisa serves as both the support and sub DPS option for various negative status teams to come in Wuthering Waves, with her amazing healing abilities coupled with the fact that she can handle her own damage output very well on her own.

As mentioned, Chisa will serve as a strong support, sub DPS and sustain character for the upcoming Negative Status meta in Wuthering Waves, so investing in getting her is a very good choice as she can be used in many different teams in the game’s future.

Making her return in version 2.8 alongside Chisa, Phoebe is a 5-star Resonator of the Spectro element that wields a Rectifier as her main weapon type. Her versatile skill kit allows her to serve as both the main DPS and the Sub-DPS Support for the Spectro Frazzle team, one of the Spectro element’s best teams.

Wuthering Waves Phoebe

Phoebe’s skill kit focuses around her using her basic attack to string into her Heavy Attack combo, allowing her to deal Spectro damage to enemies and gain special effects depending on her special modes. While in Absolution Mode, Phoebe serves as the Spectro Frazzle team’s main DPS option , dealing more Spectro damage with her heavy attacks against Spectro Frazzle-inflicted enemies. While in Confession Mode, Phoebe serves as the Spectro Frazzle team’s support, with her heavy attacks and abilities inflicting massive amounts of Spectro Frazzle stacks on enemies, allowing other main DPS options to take full advantage.

Depending on which mode you want to focus on and which team you run her with, learning to use either of Phoebe’s modes is very important and makes her an irreplaceable spot in Spectro Frazzle team comp if you want to build the team.

Phoebe excels greatly when you can manage to form a Spectro Frazzle team comp for her entire skill kit to have a chance to shine and is an essential part for such a team. However, in general content outside of that, Phoebe’s overall damage output suffers without proper teammates, so players should consider when pulling for her if you don’t have her best teammates.

Effect: ATK is increased by 12%. When the wielder casts Intro Skill or inflicts Negative Status, they gain 8% Resonance Liberation DMG Bonus, stacking up to 3 times for 15s. At max stacks, when Resonators in the team inflict Negative Status, grants 24% All-Attribute DMG Bonus for 15s. Effects of the same name cannot be stacked.

Wuthering Waves Chisa Signature Weapon

The Kumokiri offers Chisa a massive amount of important stats and a strong Liberation damage boost, essentially boosting all of her kit’s damage output by a large margin. In addition, the weapon’s passive to grant all Attribute Damage increase when an ally inflicts a negative status effect will also prove to be an amazing boon for any Negative Status teams.

Aside from Chisa, however, other broadblade users can’t take full advantage of the weapon’s passive and can only use it as mainly a stat stick.

Effect: Increase ATK by 12%. Dealing DMG to enemies with Spectro Frazzle gives 14% Basic Attack and 14% Heavy Attack DMG Bonus respectively, stacking up to 3 times for 6s. Casting Outro Skill Amplifies the DMG from Spectro Frazzle on enemies around the active Resonator by 30% for 30s. Effects of the same name cannot be stacked.

Wuthering Waves Phoebe Signature Weapon

For Phoebe, this weapon offers a good amount of stats and damage boosting abilities whenever she attacks enemies inflicted with Spectro Frazzle, allowing her to maximize her damage output. The secondary passive also maximizes her sub DPS support ability by amplifying the damage taken by Spectro Frazzle inflicted enemies for the next Resonator.

For others, this weapon is nothing more than a stat stick as there’s no other Rectify users that can make use of the weapon’s passive aside from Phoebe.

The second phase rate up banners for Wuthering Waves version 2.8 starts right after the first phase ends and will last until the end of the patch on the 2nd of January, 2026, lasting for 21 days. The 2nd phase banners will feature the return of the 5-star Havoc Resonator Phrolova and the 5-star Havoc Resonator Cantarella, alongside their signature weapons.

Phrolova is a 5-star Havoc Resonator who wields a Rectifier as her main type of weapon. She functions primarily as the Havoc team’s main DPS option, with a skill kit that revolves around dealing Echo Skill Damage.

Wuthering Waves Phrolova

Phrolova can attack multiple enemies on the field in succession and deal massive amounts of Havoc damage to enemies on the field, with the damage being considered as Resonance Skill Damage. With her Resonance Liberation, she can summon Hecate onto the field to deal damage to enemies even when she is off field, allowing her to deal massive amounts of Echo Skill Damage to enemies.

Phrolova’s damage output is exceptionally high as a main DPS character meant to carry the Havoc element in the game. Coupled this with her easy to use skill kit makes Phrolova a good choice to roll for if you want to invest in a Havoc team.

Cantarella is a 5-star Havoc Resonator that serves as the sub-DPS sustain option for the Havoc team in Wuthering Waves. She uses a rectifier as her main weapon and specializes in supplementing allies’ damage with her off-field coordinated attacks and healing allies.

Wuthering Waves Cantarella

Cantarella’s main gimmick lies in her ability to deal off field coordinated attacks alongside the main DPS on field while providing healing and a Resonance Skill buff for the main DPS after she uses her Outro Skill. She works best in a quick swap team where players can quickly use up her combo to inflict special crowd control debuffs on enemies, then uses her outro skill and Resonance LIberation to buff the main DPS of the team.

Cantarella’s main team is the mono Havoc team alongside Phrolova and she is Phrolova’s best support sub DPS character, making her an essential part of the Havoc team if you want to play with Phrolova.

While her skill kit is very simple to use, Cantarella’s main partner is Phrolova, with her skill kit only truly shining when in the same team as Phrolova. Therefore, if you want to make a Havoc team for Phrolova, you should roll for Cantarella. If not, in general content, Cantarella can’t really compete with other off field DPS options like Zhezhi or other sustain support options like Shorekeeper and Chisa.

Effect: ATK is increased by 12%. Within 12s after dealing Echo Skill DMG, gain 32% Resonance Skill DMG Bonus and 32% Echo Skill DMG Amplification, and ignore 8% of the target’s DEF when dealing damage.

Wuthering Waves Phrolova Signature Weapon

Phrolova’s signature weapon provides her with a massive amount of stats and maximizes her damage output greatly as there are few other weapon options in the game that can boost her Echo Skill Damage. Worth getting for Phrolova but only serves as a stat stick for other Resonators in the game due to them not being able to take advantage of the passive (Maybe aside from Cantarella).

Effect: Increases ATK by 12%. Casting Echo Skill within 10s after casting Intro Skill or Basic Attacks grants 1 stacks of Gentle Dream. Echoes with the same name can only trigger this effect once, stacking up to 2 times, lasting for 10s. When reaching 2 stacks, casting Echo Skill no longer resets the duration of this effect. This effect activates up to once per 10s. Switching to another Resonator ends this effect early. With 1 stack: Grants 40% Basic Attack DMG Bonus. With 2 stacks: Ignores 12% of the target’s Havoc RES.

Wuthering Waves Cantarella Signature Weapon

A strong weapon that maximizes Cantarella’s own damage output by providing her with a lot of important stats and allow her to ignore a portion of the enemies’ Havoc Resistances. However, Cantarella can use other weapons as substitutes depending on her build and this weapon’s passive is very hard to trigger for other Resonators, making it only a stat stick for others as well.
