Thanks to trusted leaked sources, we have now got an overall look into who Cryo Traveler will be as a character and what their skill kit and abilities will be for now.

Please keep in mind that since this is leaked information, despite being from a trusted source, this information is subject to change and can be greatly altered when the official release of the character is out, so take this information with a grain of salt.

General Information

Cryo Traveler is the upcoming 5-Star Cryo Element version of the Traveler that players can obtain for free upon touching the Archon Statue at the brand new region of Snezhnaya. They specialized in taking advantage of the Stellar-Conduct and Stellar-Swirl Elemental Reactions to deal powerful damage to enemies.

Genshin Impact 7.0 Cryo Traveler

Cryo Traveler Skill Kit

Basic Attack: Performs up to 5 rapid strikes.

Charge Attack: Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to unleash 2 rapid sword strikes.

Plunging Attack: Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Elemental Skill: Stabs at the opponent with the Traveler’s weapon, which releases an ice-cold fog. This deals Cryo DMG to opponents up ahead and forms a Frostpierce Star next to the Traveler.

Frostpierce Star

· Follows your party members around the field and periodically fires ice crystals at nearby opponents, dealing Cryo DMG.

Radiance: Stellar-Conduct: The Frostpierce Star will no longer fire ice crystals at opponents at intervals but will instead fire an ice crystal at opponents in a coordinated attack when the Traveler hits an opponent with a Normal Attack, Charged Attack, or Plunging Attack.

· When an opponent is hit with an ice crystal, the Traveler gains 1 stack of Frostglow (max 8 stacks).

· When not in combat, Frostglow expires after 30s.

Ultimate: Generates ice javelins with the power of Cryo, then directs them at the enemy to deal multiple instances of Cryo DMG.

When cast, the Traveler consumes all existing stacks of Frostglow, which in turn increases the DMG dealt by this Elemental Burst. When 8 stacks of Frostglow are consumed, the number of DMG instances caused by the javelins is also increased.

Radiance: Stellar Glimmer: DMG from the current Elemental Burst is changed to Cryo DMG of the corresponding Stellar Glimmer reaction type.

Passive Talent 1: Radiance: Stellar-Conduct: When a Frostpierce Star is on the field, DMG from the Traveler’s Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, and Plunging Attacks are converted to Cryo DMG that cannot be overridden by another elemental infusion, and DMG dealt is also increased by 80% of the Traveler’s ATK.

Passive Talent 2: The Traveler’s Elemental Mastery is increased by 8% of their ATK. Up to 160 Elemental Mastery can be gained in this way.

Passive Talent 3: The Traveler will enter the Radiance: Stellar-Conduct or Radiance: Stellar Glimmer state for 8s when they are inside a Polestar Field or trigger a Stellar Swirl reaction respectively.

When a party member triggers a Superconduct or Cryo Swirl reaction, it becomes a Stellar-Conduct or Stellar Swirl reaction instead, and the Base DMG of said reaction is also increased by 0.35% for every 100 points of the Traveler’s ATK. A maximum 7% increase can be obtained in this way.

Passive Talent 4: Shows the locations of Snezhnaya’s Local Specialties on the mini-map.

Cryo Traveler Constellation

– C1: The Traveler regenerates 5 Elemental Energy when they deal Stellar Glimmer DMG. This effect can trigger once every 0.5s.

– C2: The active character’s Elemental Mastery is increased by 60 for 5s when an opponent is hit by an ice crystal.

Additionally, when a character affected by the aforementioned effect triggers a Stellar reaction or deals Stellar Glimmer DMG, the Elemental Mastery boost described above will be increased to 120 for its duration.

– C4: The duration of the Frostpierce Star is increased by 25%.

– C6: Every stack of Frostglow consumed when using the Elemental Burst Frostbound Javelin increases Stellar Glimmer DMG dealt by other party members by 5% for 15s. A maximum 40% increase can be obtained in this way.

Cryo Traveler’s Signature Weapon

Staredge Saber

Genshin Impact 7.0 Cryo Traveler Weapon

Sub Stat: 33.1% Crit Rate

Effect: When the Traveler equips this, hitting an opponent will restore 3 Elemental Energy, and will increase ATK by 16% within the next 8s. This can be triggered even when the character is off-field. This effect can occur once every 5s.

Overall Gameplay Assessment

Cryo Traveler’s skill kit and abilities focuses on making them both a potential main or sub DPS character capable of enabling the different Stellar Elemental Reactions to be triggered while they are in the team. Their skill kit has the ability to either turn them into an off-field enabler or an on-field Stellar Reaction DPS character.

Cryo Traveler’s Elemental Skill allows them to deal Cryo damage to enemies on the field and summon a special Frostpierce Star. When this Frostpierce Star is on the field, it will follow the active character and periodically fires Cryo shards at enemies, dealing Cryo damage and apply the Cryo mark on enemies. However, when the Stellar-Conduct field is active, this Frostpierce Star will instead only deal Cryo damage to enemies in correspondence with The Traveler’s attacks, supplementing the traveler’s damage and allowing them to trigger the Stellar-Conduct Elemental Reaction constantly. Whenever this happens, Cryo Traveler will gain 1 stack of their special effects, stacking up to 8.

Upon using their Elemental Burst, Cryo Traveler will summon multiple ice javelins to fire at enemies, with the number of javelins being summoned increased proportional to the amount of stacks they have, dealing powerful Cryo damage to enemies. During this attack, if this attack activates Stellar-Swirl, the enemies will take additional damage of the corresponding element.

Initial Impression And Pull Advice

Cryo Traveler serves essentially as a potential main or sub DPS that is capable of taking full advantage of the Stellar-Conduct and Stellar-Swirl Elemental Reactions to enhance their own damage output against enemies, making them into a very easy to use and budget DPS option for a Stellar Elemental Reaction team.
