Arknights: Endfield 1.4 Umbral Monument Howlers of the Crag – How To Clear

The version 1.4 Update Umbral Monument Challenges is divided into 4 brand new challenges, each with their own enemies and gimmicks that players will need to overcome:

Arknights: Endfield 1.4 Umbral Monument

Visitors of Qingbo

A special challenge against a large group of varied enemies that both hinders your movements while moving around rapidly to dodge the operators’ attacks, requiring players to be nimble and strategic to dodge enemies’ attacks.

Arknights: Endfield 1.4 Umbral Monument Visitors of Qingbo

Enemies:

– Hill Smasher: Use Heavy Rocket Launcher as a melee weapon. Also shoots fireworks for its ranged attacks. Getting rammed or lifted by its horns might set off some super fireworks.

Don’t try to backstab it. It has a powerful hind kick.

– Cloud Stalker: Spew Disruption smoke. Operators caught in the smoke suffer shorter line of sight, slower movement speed, and cannot dodge.

The enemy is a relatively poor combatant. Try to take it out first.

Spew green smoke that heals other enemies.

– Nimbus Razor: Uses chain hooks to attack allied operators. Chained operators will be Stunned unless freed.

– Road Plunderer: This enemy has no special abilities.

– Grove Archer: Fire all sorts of arrows and throw bombs to harass their opponents from range.

Stage Gimmick:

– Defeating the enemy restores some HP to all other enemies and permanently raises their Attack and Max HP.

– Tacticals and consumables cannot be used.

– Enemies have the same resistance against any element.

Clear Strategy:

– This stage is a test of the players’ ability to deal with large hordes of enemies that hinders the team’s movements, heal themselves and gain stats the more enemies they defeat. This make it important for players to pick which enemy to focus on defeating first before changing targets in order to limit the amount of attack and Max HP other enemies receive from the stage buffs.

Focus Down The Cloud Stalker: The Cloud Stalkers are the number 1 enemies that players need to take out in this challenge. Not only can they debuff the entire team by slowing the entire team down, they can also heal their allies when left alive. Therefore, players need to defeat them as quickly as possible and defeat them first so that they won’t be able to receive the stage’s buffs and become much more bulkier and annoying to take out.

Nimble Movements Is The Key: The battlefield will be filled with dangerous enemies constantly moving around and charging at the team, with the smoke slowing down the team as well, so precise and nimble movements to quickly approach key enemies will be the key to complete this challenge stage.

Use Any Teams. Since the enemies have the same resistances for all elements, use the team you are most comfortable with using or the best team you have built

Earthshaking Hazefyre

A special challenge that requires players to quickly defeat a big enemy that constantly attacks them while summoning massive hordes of monsters.

Arknights: Endfield 1.4 Umbral Monument Earthshaking Hazefyre

Enemies:

– Bonekrusher Pyromancer: This Pyromancer constantly casts hazefyre and deals Damage to all Operators. He has greatly increased HP and is very hard to interrupt. He is also immune to Stagger Damage.

When taking Arts Burst Damage, this Pyromancer takes additional Damage equal to a percentage of his Max HP and becomes temporarily sealed.

– Elite Raider: This enemy has no special abilities.

– Elite Ambusher: This enemy has no special abilities.

Stage Gimmick:

– Bonekrusher Pyromancer: This Pyromancer constantly casts hazefyre and deals Damage to all Operators. He has greatly increased HP and is very hard to interrupt. He is also immune to Stagger Damage.

– When taking Arts Burst Damage, this Pyromancer takes additional Damage equal to a percentage of his Max HP and becomes temporarily sealed.

– Pyromancer will constantly summon Elite Raiders and Elite Ambushers.

– Defeating an Enemy with Arts Infliction also applies 1 stack of the same Arts Infliction to all other enemies.

– Tacticals and consumables cannot be used.

– Enemies have the same resistance against any element.

Clear Strategy:

– This stage tests the players’ ability to quickly apply multiple stacks of Arts Infliction onto the enemies to inflict Arts Burst damage to the Pyromancer and enemies, dealing additional damage to them and sealing their abilities.

Bring Characters That Can Inflict Multiple Arts Infliction At Once. Arts Infliction is the key for this stage, requiring players to quickly apply as many Arts Infliction stacks on enemies as possible to trigger Arts Bursts to deal substantial damage to the Pyromancer. Therefore, players need to bring teams with good amount of Arts Infliction application.

Use Any Arts Damage Teams. Since the enemies have the same resistances for all elements, use the team you are most comfortable with or the best team you have built. Prioritize bringing your best Arts damage team with multiple Arts Infliction Applicators to make this challenge easier.

Mangler and Friends

This challenge tests the players’ ability to manage their SP and their ability to dodge enemies’ constant attacks to recover SP to use their Battle Skill and counterattack.

Arknights: Endfield 1.4 Umbral Monument Mangler and Friends

Enemies:

– Armored Mangler Beast: The Armored Mangler Beast’s ultimate will remove all banana peels from the battlefield, and continuously deal damage to all operators. Multiple instances of interruption can stop the casting of this ultimate.

When the controlled operator steps on a banana peel, the Armored Mangler Beast will charge at them and attempt a grab.

– Rockhowler: This enemy typically roams around in packs. Any operators or Rockhowler stepping on the banana peels will trip and fall.

Stage Gimmick:

– Operators no longer have SP Regeneration.

– The controlled operator will recover some SP by stepping on banana peels thrown by Rockhowlers.

– The Armored Mangler Beast’s ultimate will remove all banana peels from the battlefield, and continuously deal damage to all operators. Multiple instances of interruption can stop the casting of this ultimate.

– Tacticals and consumables cannot be used.

– Enemies have the same resistance against any element.

Clear Strategy:

– This stage is a test of the players’ ability to adapt on the fly when they are extremely limited on SP to use Battle skill, requiring them to recover SP through various other means.

– Prevent the Boss’ Ultimate Move or Take Advantage Of It: The Boss’ ultimate in this stage is a devastating continuous attack that does not stop for a long time where the enemy will take a tree trunk and spin around the entire stage chasing operators. This can be extremely devastating if players aren’t prepared and will most likely take out the entire team easily. This makes it important that players save SP to use multiple skills at once to interrupt this Ultimate.

However, skillful players can also take advantage of this long Ultimate by dodging the swings in time, allowing them to recover SP with each dodge, allowing you to deal with the boss’ ultimate while gaining benefits at the same time.

Use Any Teams. Since the enemies have the same resistances for all elements, use the team you are most comfortable with using or the best team you have built.

King of The Crag

This challenge tests the players’ ability to deal with a big boss enemy who can constantly stun the team and deal massive amount of damage.

Arknights: Endfield 1.4 Umbral Monument King of The Crag

Enemies:

– Craghowler: In Agony Mode, the duration of Stun applied by the Craghowler’s furious roar gradually comes longer as the battle progresses.

Stage Gimmick:

– Duration of Combustion, Electrification, Corrosion, Solidification and Breach applied to the Craghowler becomes permanent. Effects of Combustion, Electrification, Corrosion, Solidification and Breach applied to the Craghowler also becomes stronger. The aforementioned Arts Reaction and Physical Status also persists after consumption.

– The Craghowler will unleash a furious roar on a regular basis. The roar applies stun to all operators. The duration of Stun applied by the Craghowler’s furious roar gradually comes longer as the battle progresses.

– Tacticals and consumables cannot be used.

– Enemies have the same resistance against any element.

Clear Strategy:

– This stage is a test of the players’ ability to quickly take down the boss enemy before it perma stuns the team the longer the fight progresses.

Take Full Advantage of Permanent Arts Reactions and Physical Status: Since both Arts Reactions and Physical Statuses remains permanently on the boss and will deal more damage to them, players should use teams that take full advantage of these effects to deal as much damage to boss as quickly as possible to not be hindered by the boss’ stun special ability.

Use Any Teams. Since the enemies have the same resistances for all elements, use the team you are most comfortable with or the best team you have built.
