What Is The Echoes of War Gamemode

Introduced with the release of Arknights: Endfield version 1.4 Update Patch and its half anniversary, the Echoes of War gamemode is a brand new permanent gamemode where players will be able to challenge sets of selected enemies in challenge environments in order to obtain various important rewards such as Oroberyls, Character Upgrading Materials and More!

This is a permanent gamemode that will rotate gradually during each update patch of the game moving forward, with each rotation providing players with different sets of challenges every week, up to a maximum of 8 challenges every phases, for a total of 16 challenge stages for the entire 42 days duration of the update patch or 2 phases of banners.

The challenge stages in this gamemode varies in contents, including mechanics previously seen in Contingency Contracts, brand new enemies and more, with each set of enemies having a unique specific ability and gimmick.

Challenge Difficulties and Star Ratings

For each set of challenges in Echoes of War, the challenge stages will be divided into 3 different difficulties: Normal, Hard and Brutal. By clearing each of the difficulties of a challenge, players will be able to obtain the corresponding rewards granted by that difficulty.

Normal difficulty is of course, the easiest difficulty, with the enemies’ stat being below the average team stats and players can easily clear this with all of the game’s well-built teams or even solo the stages with an invested DPS character.

Hard difficulty is the default difficulty of this gamemode, with the enemies’ stats being on par with high level Operator teams at level 90 and the enemies also have specific stage gimmick buffs and effects applied to them. Brutal difficulty is the gamemode’s hardest difficulty, where not only are the enemies buffed up with higher stats than usual and better overall damage output, they also enjoy specific powerful stage gimmick buffs that can be very annoying to deal with. Not only that, this difficulty also has a time limit assigned to it, where if players are able to clear the challenges within the time limit they will be able to obtain additional star ratings.

Upon clearing a difficulty of a challenge set, players will gain star ratings corresponding to the difficulty they cleared. The higher the star rating players gain, the higher the season rating players will get.

Season Resets and Season Ratings

The Echoes of War gamemode is very unique in that it will provide the players with constant challenges on a rotation schedule, with each rotation being called a season.

Each season of the Echoes of War gamemode will consist of a set of challenges and will last a total of 3 weeks each or 21 days. However, during each season, the challenges will rotate weekly, with each week offering players a total of 3 different sets of challenges to clear. This means that, in order to fully clear a season, players will need to complete all of its challenges every week, with a maximum of 8 challenges being available for players to clear. 

This means that every patch will have 2 different seasons, with a total of 16 challenges in total that rotates every week for players to clear. Upon clearing and obtaining star ratings, the players will also be able to obtain season ratings based on the star ratings they managed to gain during each season. The higher the star ratings, the more accomplished the player is and the game requires players to gain a certain amount of star rating for each season to reward players with a special season title. The highest possible season title players can obtain is the Lustrous Title, which is displayed next to the players’ profile picture at the end of a season.
