With the participation of Chaos Zero Nightmare in Anime Expo 2026, many different details regarding the upcoming 4th Season of Galactic Disaster have been revealed, including brand new game mechanics, characters and new cards.

Brand New Gameplay Mechanics and Features

With the upcoming release the game’s 4th Season of Galactic Disaster, many different gameplay mechanics have been revealed and added to the game in advance:

– Introducing Desire Cards: Desire cards are special cards that players can add into the deck of each character to provide amazing benefits to the characters when used, with each character deck being able to add 1 Desire card into their deck at a time. Each Desire card has a different effect and function, with different classes of character having access to different types of Desire cards.

Desire cards can also be leveled up throughout the chaos run, granting them additional special effects and further enhancing their effects when used in the fight. Players can use these cards to maximize their builds and clear all of the game’s contents easier.

– Save Data Mutation: In addition to the Desire Cards being introduced to the game during the 4th season of Galactic Disaster, a special permanent feature has also been added to the game in the form of Save Data Mutation. Each of these Mutations can only exist only once on each character’s save data and can be modified by using the aforementioned items.

– New System – Backup Protocol: Another addition to the chaos system, The Backup Protocol system has also been introduced. This system allows players to gain additional benefits when challenging different Chaos and be able to obtain cards and equipment from previous seasons. Because previous seasons’ buffs become inactive the moment the seasons end, making it harder for players to obtain season specific cards and gain season specific buffs during Chaos runs, this system is made with the intention to grant players a portion of the seasonal upgrade that was available during each previous season of the game. 

This help to diversify players’ save data and help players to build previous seasons’ characters with their optimal builds using their season’s preferred cards in a faster and more dynamic way in general.

The first improvement to Sortie is the overall improvement to the game’s Fate system, with a lot of the Fates buffs players can obtain from each run being improved and adjusted to better help players clear Sortie quicker and more efficiently.

The second improvement to Sortie is the addition of a Leaderboard ranking system for Sortie Hardcore mode. This leaderboard will display the highest level of Sortie players on the server has achieved and what kinds of characters and save data they used to clear these levels. Players can take notes of these examples from higher level players and apply them to your own runs to best clear high level Sorties and obtain the most amount of rewards possible.

The third improvement to the Sortie system is the addition of special Combatant Data and Sortie Data. Whenever players uses specific characters to challenge Sortie and achieved specific milestones within the Sortie, the characters will be marked as completing these special tasks and will reward players with crystals and other rewards for each character that have achieved these Combatant Data milestones. Additionally, upon completing specific achievements in the Combatant Data, players will also be able to obtain special Combatant Exclusive titles and rewards.

Finally, the last important Sortie improvement is the addition of a brand new boss system in the form of the Decisive Battle: Chaos Core system. This system can only be activated during a Hardcore Sortie run and will be active throughout the run. Whenever players manage to defeat the different bosses in the run, the players will have the chance to destroy a Chaos Anchor. Upon destroying 3 Chaos Anchors, players will trigger the final Sortie fight – Decisive Battle: Chaos Core.

During this fight, players’ focus is to deal as much damage to the Chaos Core as possible within a time limit or before the Chaos Core wipes the team out. The more damage the team deals, the more rewards the team will obtain and the higher the score on the leaderboard the player will get. 

–  Story Rewrite: Like previous mentioned in developers notes, the first 3 chapters of the game have finally received massive revamps, with story rewrites, additional story contents and further story challenges being added into the game to flesh out the world of the game and offer the players a better look into the game’s lore.

– Endgame contents improvements: Finally, the last thing players can expect from the 4th Season of Galactic Disaster is the revamp for endgame contents, with harder fights but better buffs, allowing players to challenge the endgame contents easier when using specific teamcomps and playstyles.

Brand New Characters Tease

Of course the most important thing players can expect from the release of a new season of Galactic Disaster in Chaos Zero Nightmare is the introduction of the brand new characters. In this season, players will be able to meet and recruit 3 different characters:

The first character players will be able to meet and recruit is Hilde. She is confirmed to be a Ranger character of the Instinct Element and will be the first character to be released for the Season. Players will be able to roll and add her to your roster on the 29th of July.

The other 2 characters players will be able to meet are Olga and Arabella, with both of these characters’ release schedule being unknown for now.
