Claret Flint is Zenless Zone Zero’s first Armorer, a DEF-scaling main DPS who turns excess CRIT Rate into extra Laceration checks, stacks Gash into Maim, and wants you to treat 1,800 initial DEF like a hard rule instead of a suggestion. If you pulled her on the Version 3.2 banner, or you are planning to, make sure you get the best of Claret. So, this ZZZ Claret build guide is the full masterclass: kit, stats, W-Engines, Drive Discs, Claret teams ZZZ, materials, and the rotation that actually pays her burst off.

And don’t forget to start farming Thorned Rose or locking Polychrome into her Signal Search, and for that, it is worth top up Zenless Zone Zero through Enjoygm. Version 3.2 Phase 1 is a double spend: Claret herself plus Crimson Thirst, the W-Engine that feeds her Sharp DMG, CRIT Rate, and Electric Sharp buff in one slot. Enjoygm uses UID-only delivery, lands Monochrome quickly, and regularly undercuts official pricing, which matters when you are also holding tapes for Roxy in Phase 2.
ZZZ Claret Release Date, Class, and Identity
The ZZZ Claret release date is September 9, 2026, at the start of Version 3.2: Their Secret Histories. She headlines Phase 1 alongside a Nangong Yu rerun. Roxy, her Flint Workshop partner and the patch’s Wind Stun Agent, arrives in Phase 2 around September 30.
A quick overview for Claret is as follows:
| Detail | Claret Flint |
| Rarity | S-Rank |
| Attribute | Electric |
| Specialty (Claret ZZZ class) | Armorer (first Agent of the class) |
| Faction | Flint Workshop |
| Role | DEF-scaling main DPS |
| Damage type | Sharp / Slash |
| EN / JP VA | Cassandra Lee Morris / Kana Ueda |
You also have to note that Claret is Administrative Director of Flint Workshop, the Porcelloy research and manufacturing arm of Roscaelifer. In combat she is the opposite of a glass Attacker: every skill uses DEF as the damage multiplier, her “CRIT DMG” is replaced by Laceration DMG, and Armorer uniquely unlocks Counter Assist, which can contest certain enemy Control Skills instead of only Defensive Assisting them.
ZZZ Claret Kit: Gash, Maim, Laceration, and Multi-CRIT
The ZZZ Claret kit is a setup-and-burst loop, not a permanent on-fielder. You build Gash, Stun the target, enter her empowered state, spend Gash for Maim, then cash Personal Resources into a finisher.
So, that works like this:
- Sharp DMG: All of Claret’s skill damage is Sharp DMG. Sharp DMG scales from DEF, not ATK. That single rule is why this Zenless Zone Zero Claret best build guide ignores ATK% mains on Disc 6.
- Gash: Attacks accumulate Gash value. When the bar fills, the enemy gains a Gash stack (up to 3). Teammates can feed that bar through her Additional Ability, which is why Stun and future Armorer partners matter.
- Maim: Specific skills, especially Claret’s Special / EX Special and charged slash strings and consume Gash and trigger Maim. Maim deals extra damage and grants Claret Personal Resources plus a Laceration DMG buff.
- Laceration and multi-CRIT: When Claret crits, Laceration DMG replaces normal CRIT DMG. When her CRIT Rate exceeds 100%, the overflow triggers additional Laceration checks. That is why overcapping CRIT Rate is not wasted on her the way it is on most Agents.
- Core Skill conversion: Claret’s Core Skill converts a portion of initial CRIT DMG into initial CRIT Rate. CRIT DMG is still useful as a substat, but CRIT Rate remains the first roll you chase.
- Crimson Inscription / Bloodaxe form: EX Special spends Sharpness and puts her into Crimson Inscription (about 16 seconds; the timer pauses while she is off-field). In this state she gains a large CRIT Rate and damage amp, alternate Basic strings, and the tools that actually spend Gash. Chain Attack can extend the state.
- Gleaming Edge Unveiled: A follow-up state that grants roughly 20% PEN Ratio and extra Daze for a short window, and can copy to a Stun or Armorer teammate. This is why Disc 5 PEN Ratio and Rina look so good on paper.
- Counter Assist: Armorer’s signature defensive tool. Use it when the new gold/red Assist flash (coming with 3.2 combat UI tweaks) tells you a Control Skill can be contested.

Skill Priority If Materials are Tight
- Core Skill
- Special Attack
- Basic Attack
- Chain Attack
- Assist
- Dodge
Core Skill and Special Attack are the kit. Everything else is polish.

Zenless Zone Zero Claret Build Stats
These are the Zenless Zone Zero Claret build stats you should actually gear toward. Hit the DEF breakpoint first. Then feed CRIT Rate until in-combat you are comfortably over 100%.
| Stat | Minimum | Comfortable | High investment |
| Initial DEF | 1,800 (Thorned Rose 4-pc max CRIT) | 1,800–2,000 | 2,000+ |
| Initial CRIT Rate | 50%+ | 65–80% | 80%+ |
| In-combat CRIT Rate | 100%+ | 120–150% | 150%+ |
| PEN Ratio | ~24% before buffs | 24%+ | 24%+ before Rina / Gleaming Edge |

Main Stats
- Disc 4: CRIT Rate
- Disc 5: PEN Ratio > Electric DMG > DEF%
- Disc 6: DEF%
Substat Priority
CRIT Rate > DEF% > CRIT DMG > PEN Ratio > flat DEF
Do not farm ATK% the way you would for Ellen or Zhu Yuan. ATK does almost nothing for Sharp DMG. CRIT DMG is the sleeper fourth stat because the Core Skill turns initial CRIT DMG into more CRIT Rate, which then fuels multi-CRIT.
Best W-Engines for the ZZZ Claret Build
Crimson Thirst is the signature and the only W-Engine that solves three problems at once: DEF main stat for Sharp scaling, a huge CRIT Rate passive for the 100%+ multi-CRIT line, and an Electric Sharp DMG buff that refreshes off EX Special and Maim.
If you are already committed to her banner, Enjoygm pays for itself. Signature W-Engines in ZZZ are not cosmetic upgrades on a DEF scaler as they are the difference between “kit works” and “kit sings.” Topping up Monochrome on Enjoygm before Phase 1 ends is the practical way to take both Claret and Crimson Thirst without draining every Encrypted Master Tape you were saving for Roxy.

And here are your recommended W engines:
| W-Engine | Rank | Why it works | When to use it |
| Crimson Thirst | S | Base DEF + 48% DEF, large CRIT Rate, Electric DMG, 40s Electric Sharp DMG buff on EX / Maim | Best-in-slot. Pull if you are building her as a long-term main DPS. |
| Bloodmarrow Coffer | A (Battle Pass) | DEF base with CRIT Rate substat; bonus damage for CRIT Rate over 100% | Best 4-star when you can already overcap CRIT. |
| Catty Luck | A | Heavy DEF% and extra DEF after EX Special | Best budget DEF stick if you missed Coffer and Thirst. |
Passives on the A-ranks are close enough that a single good Disc 4 CRIT Rate roll can outvalue a “theoretically better” engine. Do not brick your account pulling an extra S-Rank engine if Bloodmarrow Coffer plus Thorned Rose already clears the 1,800 DEF and 100% CRIT lines.
Best Drive Discs for Claret ZZZ Build Guide
4-piece Thorned Rose is not a suggestion for your Zenless Zone Zero Claretbuild. The set was previewed with Claret’s color language and it is the only 4-piece that gives DEF, raw damage, and CRIT Rate at the exact DEF thresholds she wants.
- 2-piece Thorned Rose: DEF +16%
- 4-piece Thorned Rose: DMG +15%. If initial DEF is at least 1,000 / 1,800, CRIT Rate +8% / 16%.

That 1,800 initial DEF number is the whole reason Disc 6 is DEF% and why you do not splash random ATK pieces “just for now.”
2-piece Partner (Pick One)
- Woodpecker Electro — +8% CRIT Rate. Safest default while you learn her multi-CRIT curve.
- Soul Rock — extra DEF if you are still short of 1,800.
- Puffer Electro or Thunder Metal — Electric-leaning alternatives if the CRIT Rate subs on Woodpecker are unusable.
- Branch & Blade Song — only if you are stacking CRIT DMG to feed the Core Skill conversion and already have CRIT Rate elsewhere.
Until your Disc 4 and substats are online, 4 Thorned Rose + 2 Woodpecker Electro is the Zenless Zone Zero Claret best build. Swap the 2-piece only when a specific piece has two or three high-value subs that Woodpecker cannot match.
Claret Teams ZZZ for Best Performance
Claret wants a Stun window and a Support who donates the two stats she can scale: DEF and PEN Ratio. Extra Armorers (when more of the class exist) will also feed Gash, but at launch Roxy is the intended Stun partner.

Best: Claret + Roxy + Rina
- Claret — on-field burst during Stun / Crimson Inscription.
- Roxy — Wind Stun, Daze, and the Flint Workshop Additional Ability synergy that helps Gash and Maim line up.
- Rina (Alexandrina Sebastiane) — the Support who can give both PEN Ratio and DEF. Her kit is the closest thing Claret has to a dedicated buffer at launch.
This is the team every current Claret ZZZ build guide converges on. Over 70% of her damage still wants a Stun window, so Roxy is not flavor—she is the second half of the class fantasy.
Strong Alternatives
- Claret + Qingyi / Koleda / Lycaon + Rina — classic Stun cores if you do not own Roxy yet. Qingyi is the cleanest Electric-adjacent Stun; Lycaon + Nicole is the F2P-friendly Ice/Ether control package.
- Claret + Anby + Nicole — real F2P line. Anby Stuns, Nicole shreds DEF and groups. Damage is lower, but the loop is the same.
- Claret + Norma + Rina — usable Fire Stun flex if Norma is already built.
Bangboo note: until 3.2’s Armorer Bangboo and Flint Workshop options are fully available, run your best Electric or generalist Bangboo (the one that already supports Shock / energy / grouping on your account). Do not delay her Disc farm waiting on a Bangboo banner.
Rotation That Matches the Kit
- Open on Rina. Plant her Bangboo, spend EX if Energy is ready, take the Quick Assist.
- Swap to your Stunner. Build Daze. Let teammate hits drip Gash value.
- When the enemy is near Stun and Claret has Sharpness, swap her in.
- EX Special into Crimson Inscription.
- Basic string / charged Special to spend Gash and trigger Maim. Bank Personal Resources.
- Chain Attack to refresh Gash and extend Inscription.
- Dump Personal Resources into the Blood Burial / onslaught finisher.
- Swap out. Let the Stunner rebuild. Repeat.
If you mash Claret on-field with zero Gash and no Stun, she feels like a slow DEF stick. The kit is a window character. Play the window.
ZZZ Claret Materials and What You Can Pre-Farm
ZZZ Claret materials split into “farm now” Electric chips and “wait for 3.2” Armorer seals.
| Material | Approx. total (Lv. 60 + skills + Core) |
| Basic Shock Chip | 25 |
| Advanced Shock Chip | 75 |
| Specialized Shock Chip | 250 |
| Beginner / Basic Armorer Certification Seal | 4 |
| High-Grade / Advanced Armorer Certification Seal | 32 |
| Blade Bearer / High-Tier Armorer Certification Seal | 30 |
| Hamster Cage Pass | 5 |
| New weekly boss mat | 9 |
| New Expert Challenge / Higher Dimensional Data | 60 |
| Denny | ~3,705,000 |
Pre-farm today: Shock Chips from Electric Combat Simulation, Dennies, Hamster Cage Passes, W-Engine Energy Modules.
Wait for 3.2: Armorer Certification Seals, Armorer W-Engine components, the new weekly boss, and the new Expert Challenge item. Those do not exist on the live 3.1 board.
Skill books and Dennies are the silent tax. If you only pre-farm chips and then starve her Core Skill, you will feel it immediately—the Core Skill is Sharp DMG, Gash, and the CRIT conversion.
Mindscapes: Where Copies Actually Matter
Claret’s kit is complete at M0. You do not need Mindscapes to make the class function.
- M1 — Gash / CRIT Rate quality of life. Good, not mandatory.
- M2 — current recommended stopping point on most early guides (RES shred and Sharpness refunds on Maim).
- M3 / M5 — skill levels.
- M4 — combo comfort in Inscription.
- M6 — free Maim on Chain / Ultimate heavy hits without spending Gash. Luxury capstone.
Pull M2 only after Crimson Thirst and a finished Thorned Rose 4-piece. Mindscapes do not fix a 1,400 DEF Disc set.
Conclusion
That ends our Zenless Zone Zero Claret build guide. Play her like a forged blade, not like a standard Electric Attacker. Stack the plate, push CRIT Rate through the cap, spend Gash on a Stunned target, and let Laceration do the thing ATK% builds were never going to do.
