What is Lantern Rite Festival ?

The Lantern Rite Festival, Liyue’s grand annual festival held on the first full moon for five days, originated from guiding wartime warriors home with lanterns and honors fallen heroes protecting Liyue. The critical event in Lantern Rite Festival is releasing Xiao Deng and the community-built Mingxiao Lantern (a symbol of community). It carries wishes for peace and new beginnings of the new year. In the game, it features festive events and rewards such as a free 4-star Liyue character and Primogems. The Xiao Market reflecting Liyue’s culture and solidarity, while symbolizing “endless wisdom’s flames” and connecting Liyue’s past and present as an iconic Genshin event.
