The first phase of the 4.2 for Honkai Star Rail will begin on the 22nd of April and last for a total of 3 weeks, with 4 different banners on rate up, featuring the Brand new 5-Star Imaginary Elation character Silver Wolf Lv.999, the returning 5-Star Fire Destruction character Firefly, the 5-Star Fire Nihility Character The Dahlia and the 5-Star Remembrance Castorice.

Silver Wolf Lv.999 is a 5-Star Character of the Elation Path and Imaginary Element. She specializes in dealing massive amounts of Imaginary Basic Attack and Elation damage to all enemies once her Ultimate is unleashed, making her a very powerful Elation Main DPS character for the future contents in the game.

Honkai Star Rail Silver Wolf Lv.999

Silver Wolf Lv.999’s entire gameplan revolves around players generating as many Punchline points as possible before triggering Aha Instance to allow Silver Wolf Lv.999 to convert Punchlines into Hidden Ranking Points and fuel her Ultimate. Once she gains enough Hidden Ranking Points, Silver Wolf Lv.999 can unleash her Ultimate and massively enhances her damage output and allow her to use her Enhanced Basic Attack.

Once Silver Wolf Lv.999 triggers her Ultimate, she will deploy a special zone that allows her to trigger special effects whenever an ally consumes Skill Points while the zone is in effect, allowing her to grant the team various beneficial effects or deal damage to enemies randomly.

As the main push for the 3rd Anniversary for Honkai Star Rail, Silver Wolf Lv.999 is a very powerful Elation Main DPS character for the future contents revolving around the Elation path in the game.

Getting Silver Wolf Lv.999 is highly recommended if players want to start investing in an Elation team comp to build around to help clear all of the upcoming contents in the game.

Firefly is a 5-Star Character of the Destruction Path and Fire Element. She is a main DPS character for the Break team and is one of the best DPS characters in the game. Firefly specializes in dealing powerful Super Break damage to enemies upon reducing their weakness bar to 0 and applying the Fire weakness to enemies.

Honkai Star Rail Firefly

Firefly’s main strong points comes from the fact that she can reduce the weaknesses and deal Super Break damage to enemies relatively easily, making her a very strong DPS character for certain gamemodes such as Apocalypse Shadow. Additionally, thanks to her ability to apply Fire weakness to enemies, she can virtually ignore any weakness types on enemies.

With her Novarflare buff increasing her damage modifiers and allowing her to apply Fire Weakness to 3 enemies at a time, Firefly has regained her strength as one of the most powerful main DPS characters in the game.

However, she is extremely team-reliant and struggles immensely against enemies that can’t be weakness-broken, making her very difficult to use without proper team management, turning her into a very costly DPS character to use properly.

The Dahlia is a 5-Star Character of the Fire Element and Nihility Path. She is a Super Break support character capable of allowing allies to deal Super Break damage to enemies even when the enemies haven’t been weakness broken and allows the main DS ally to deal even more Break damage to enemies.

Honkai Star Rail The Dahlia

The Dahlia mainly serves as a Break Team support character that enables the Break Main DPS to deal more damage to enemies while also dealing a decent amount of damage to enemies herself.

The Dahlia is one of the core characters for the Break team thanks to her powerful utility for the Break team, allowing the team to deal Super Break damage to enemies even when the enemies can’t be weakness broken.

However, she mostly can only be used in Break teams and no other teams, so if you don’t have other Break teams centric characters, rolling for her is not recommended.

Castorice is a 5-Star Character of the Remembrance path and Quantum Element. She is one of the game’s best Main DPS characters and is the main DPS character for the Remembrance and Max HP team comp.

Honkai Star Rail Castorice

Castorice’s abilities and skill kit allows her to deal powerful max HP based damage to enemies by consuming the entire team’s Max HP and summoning her familiar to bombard the enemies, the more the team recovers and consume HP, the more frequent Castorice acts and deals more damage to enemies. On her own, she can function very well as a main DPS character even without the most optimal support characters for her.

Castorice is a very self-sufficient and powerful main DPS character that can work with a lot of different supports as long as they can boost her Max HP or her overall damage output. She by herself is also not really that team-reliant and can clear all of the contents in the game with low investments. She is a relatively safe and good Main DPS choice for any players to have in various situations.

The second phase of the 4.2 Update Patch for Honkai Star Rail will also last for 21 days, starting from the end of the first phase banners and lasting until the end of the update patch. This phase features 4 featured banners, with the release of the brand new 5-Star Physical Elation character Evanescia and the return of 3 old characters: the 5-Star Imaginary Harmony Character Sunday, the 5-Star Quantum Harmony Character Tribbie and the 5-Star Wind Hunt Character Feixiao.

Evanescia is a 5-Star Character of the Physical Element and Elation Path. She specializes in taking advantage of the Elation Path’s Certified Banger effect to gain large amount of Ultimate energy to spam Ultimate and deal powerful Physical Elation damage to enemies, making her a very strong Elation Main DPS character.

Honkai Star Rail Evanescia

Evanescia skill kit allows her to serves as a Elation team main DPS character that specializes in taking advantage of the Elation Path’s Certified Banger effect gained from triggering Aha Instances. She specializes in gaining Certified Banger and use them as Ultimate energy and uses her Ultimate Energy as Certified Banger stacks.

Evanescia’s main gimmick is somewhat similar to Saber from the Fate collaboration event, where she can use her Ultimate after accumulating a set amount of Certified banger stacks instead of needing to fully fill her Ultimate Energy, allowing her to constantly spam her Ultimate to deal damage to enemies. The more Aha Instance is triggered when she is in the same team as other Elation characters, the more Certified Banger she can gain through other characters gaining Certified Bangers.

Evanescia’s gameplan revolves around spamming as many Skill and Ultimate against enemies as possible to deal powerful Physical Elation damage to enemies, making her a strong main DPS character for the Elation team that specializes in utilizing the  Certified Banger effect.

The other core Main DPS character for the Elation Path, Evanescia makes a secondary Elation damage team separate from Silver Wolf Lv.999. Evanescia’s damage potential is extremely high despite not having the most optimal supports for her right now and her skill kit is very simple in nature, making it easy for players to use her without worrying about it too much.

Her high damage potential, her ease of use and the potential for her damage to go even further with better future supports make her a good character players should consider pulling as an investment for end game contents in Honkai Star Rail.

Sunday is a 5-Star Character of the Harmony Path and Imaginary Element. He is one of the best support characters in the game that can provide concentrated powerful single target buffs to an ally and elevate their gameplay greatly.

Honkai Star Rail Sunday

Sunday’s skill kit allows him to boost the Attack and damage output of an ally in addition to boosting their critical chance and critical damage, essentially boosting every offensive stats a character realistically needs. Additionally, he can also action advance the ally, making them act immediately and help to cycle the damage output of the main DPS character way smoother.

In essence, Sunday provides every single thing a main DPS character needs in his kit, making it so that he can be used in any team comps as a viable support character and is the best in slot support option for a lot of different team comps.

Sunday is a very strong university support character that any account should have as the more offensive main DPS characters are released, the more uses Sunday will have and the more teams he will be able to be slotted in. So he is a good investment in general.

Tribbie is a 5-Star Harmony character of the Quantum Element. She serves as a decently strong support and sub DPS character for various Max HP based team comps thanks to her ability to deal constant damage to all enemies while also boosting the damage output of the entire team.

Honkai Star Rail Tribbie

Tribbie’s main strong point lies in her ability to regenerate her ultimate extremely quickly and her ability to boost the damage output of the entire team, helping to elevate the damage output of the entire team. Additionally, she provides more damage buff when her Max HP is high, making her a very good character to bring to Max HP centric team comps.

Tribbie is a very interesting case for a Support character due to her skill kit resembling more of a sub DPS character rather than a Support character. She provides good value for any team that can deal Max HP based damage or AoE attack centric teams that want to use her as a battery character with her frequent AoE attacks. That being said, Tribbie isn’t really a must have support and is quite team restrictive so players should consider carefully before rolling for her.

Feixiao is a 5-Star character fo the Hunt Path and Wind Element. She serves as a main DPS character for the Follow Up Attack teams and specializes in dealing constant single target Follow Up and Ultimate damage to an enemy.

Honkai Star Rail Feixiao

Feixiao’s skill kit allows her to constantly trigger her Follow Up Attacks against single enemies at a time, dealing good Wind Critical damage to them and allow her to accumulate stacks. Once her stacks are filled up, she can unleash her Ultimate and deal powerful damage to an enemy.

Feixiao skill kit as a whole suffers heavily from her only be able to deal single target damage to enemies, especially when the meat of the game have moved into contents with a lot of enemies all at once. Additionally, Follow Up Attack teams are generally quite outdated in the current meta, making her less desirable when compared to other main DPS characters in the game.

Feixiao is in due need of a buff to her skill kit and unless there’s a big change to the Follow Up damage team, it is not worth getting Feixiao.

With that, we have gone over the banners being rated up during the 3rd Anniversary update patch for Honkai Star Rail.
