Ashveil is a 5-star character of the Lightning Element that follows the path of the Hunt. He specializes in dealing constant Follow Up Attacks against enemies by spending his special charge counts and is able to deal powerful damage to enemies under his special Bait effect. Unlike other Follow Up characters, Ashveil is capable of dealing with multiple enemies at once thanks to his Follow Up Attacks being able to change targets upon the Bait enemy being defeated right away, making him a rare Hunt character with AoE damage potential.

Honkai Star Rail Ashveil
Deal Lightning Damage to 1 enemy.
Leveling Priority: Low
Basic Attack
Reason: Only level this up if you have extra resources and want to optimize Ashveil’s damage.
Designate an enemy as “Bait”, then deal Lightning damage to them. When attacking an enemy with “Bait”, deals more damage to them and recover 1 Skill Point.
When there is a Bait enemy on the field, reduce all enemies’ defense. If there’s no enemies with Bait, immediately mark the enemy with the lowest HP as bait.
Leveling Priority: High
Skill
Reason: Ashveil’s main source of damage aside from his Follow Up Attacks, level this up as much as possible to maximize his damage output.
Designate an enemy as “bait”, then deal Lightning Damage to them. Immediately after, trigger an instance of Ashvei’s Talent Follow UP Attack against the target. Ashveil gains 3 charges.
This instance of Follow Up Attack does not consume charge. When “Gluttony” stacks reach 4 or more stacks, consume 4 stacks to deal additional instances of Lightning damage to enemies. If the enemy is defeated while this attack triggers, immediately changes target to a new enemy with “Bait” and repeats this until “Gluttony” stacks are below 4. Ends this attack if all present enemies are defeated.
Leveling Priority: High
Ultimate
Reason: Another of Ashveil’s main sources of damage, so players should prioritize leveling this up to the maximum to optimize his damage output.
Ashveil has an initial charge of 2 and can hold up to 3 charges. When enemy with “Bait” gets attacked by an ally, generates energy, then consume 1 charge to deal an instance of Follow Up Attack on the enemy and gains 2 stacks of “Gluttony”
Leveling Priority: Highest
Talent
Reason: Ashveil’s main damage source and should be leveled up first above all others.
When Ashveil uses Skill/Ultimate, gains 1/ 2 stacks of “Gluttony.” During Ashveil’s Follow-Up ATK, for every 1 enemy(ies) suffer a killing blow, Ashveil gains 1 stack(s) of “Gluttony.”
Unlock Priority: Highest
Bonus Ability 1
Reason: An amazing Additional Ability that massively improves Ashveil’s damage rotation. Should be unlocked as soon as possible.
DMG dealt by Ashveil’s Follow-Up ATK increases by 80%. And for every 1 stack(s) of “Gluttony” in possession, DMG dealt by Follow-Up ATK additionally increases by 10%.
Unlock Priority: High
Bonus Ability 2
Reason: An additional ability that massively boost Ashveil’s overall damage output. Should be unlocked to maximize his damage potential.
While Ashveil is on the field, CRIT DMG dealt by ally targets increases by 40%, and CRIT DMG dealt by ally target’s Follow-Up ATK additionally increases by 80%.
Unlock Priority: Highest
Bonus Ability 3
Reason: An incredible additional ability to allows Ashveil to support the entire team by simply existing on the field, helping to boost the entire team’s overall damage output.

Ashveil is intended to be a very powerful Follow Up Attack DPS and Support character, capable of bypassing his limitations as a Hunt unit to deal with waves of enemies thanks to his special Bait effect.

In essence, Ashveil’s gameplay is relatively simple: while Ashveil is on the field, he will have special charge points that can be expended whenever an ally attacks enemies with the Bait effect on them. When this happens, Ashveil will unleash a Follow Up attack onto the Bait enemy, dealing massive amounts of Lightning damage to the enemy and gaining special Gluttony stacks. Upon defeating the enemy with bait, Ashveil will automatically mark another enemy as bait and launch another Follow Up attack on that enemy, expending more of his charge. He will only stop attacking if he fails to defeat the bait enemy after expending 1 charge, if he runs out of charge, or if he successfully takes down all enemies with the bait status in a row. This makes him a very unique character in that he is not really an AoE character, yet he is still capable of dealing with waves of enemies with ease as long as he can defeat them.

Additionally, while Ashveil is on the team, he offers massive amounts of benefits to allies, providing defense reduction on all enemies, boosting the team’s critical damage and rate by a massive amount, and even straight up boosting the damage output of the team by a lot.

Currently, the main problem with the Follow Up Attack team is that they mainly consist of either powerful Hunt characters or support Erudition characters that can do Follow Up Attack, meaning they severely lack AoE damage as a whole. This problem can easily be fixed with the introduction of Ashveil as the team’s main DPS, with him being able to constantly proc his Follow Up Attacks on enemies continuously and even help to initiate Follow Up Attacks from other characters. Furthermore, Ashveil’s overall powerful debuff and buffs simply make him a very useful character to have as he offers a lot simply by existing in a team.
