Starting from the 17th of March, 2026, The A Better Tomorrow Update Patch is Punishing Gray Raven’s new update patch after the Withering Crown Update Patch. This update patch runs for 6 weeks, until the 28th of April, 2026 and features a whole host of gameplay updates, events and the release of a brand new S Rank Construct – Nirvatia: Dirge.

New Story Chapter & Special Construct Story

With the release of a brand new update patch, players will be treated with a brand new Main Story Chapter, aptly named A Better Tomorrow. Players will be able to participate in the new chapter and find out the story behind Rosetta’s brand new Frame Arete and her role in the brand new main story arc of Punishing Gray Raven.

By going through to the new main story chapter, players will also be able to obtain a decent amount of Black Cards and character upgrading materials as well. 

Additionally to the main story chapter, players will be able to clear a special construct story to test out the brand new S Rank Construct Nirvatia: Dirge and obtain Special Limited R&D Tickets for a limited time.

Affection Story And Free S Rank Construct

During the A Better Tomorrow Update Patch, a special Affection Story will be available for players to playthrough and experience the story of Nirvatia: Dirge for a limited time.

There are a total of 6 stages, with all of them containing specially voiced dialogue and interactions between the MC and Nirvatia: Dirge, as well as a battle stage for players to experience her gameplay for themselves.

Alongside the update patch, players will be introduced to the patch’s main rate up character and her rate up banner. This time the new S Rank character introduced is the S Rank Nihil Amplifier Construct Nirvatia: Dirge.

Special Banner Rules

During the event update patch, Nirvatia: Dirge will be available for players to roll on a special limited banner. However, unlike other update patches, Nirvatia: Dirge will be available on an entirely new type of Rate Up Banner as opposed to the usual Arrival Construct Banner: the Crucible Construct Event Banner.

Crucible Construct Event Banner is a special banner that does not share pity with the usual Arrival Construct or any banners aside from itself. 

The rules of the Crucible Construct Event banner is similar to the usual Arrival Construct Banner in that players are guaranteed to get Nirvatia: Dirge upon getting an S Rank Construct from the banner and will be guaranteed an S Rank Construct every 60 pulls on the banner. However, in addition to the usual Arrival Constructs Banner Rules, the Crucible Construct Event Banner provides players with additional rewards upon doing a set amount of pulls during the banner period. The more you pull on the banners, the more Limited R&D Tickets you will be refunded and you can also obtain additional copies of Nirvatia: Dirge’s signature Weapon and CUB upon reaching certain pull milestones.

Nirvatia: Dirge

Nirvatia: Dirge is a S Rank Construct of the Nihil Element and Amplifier and is the last piece of the Nihil Elemental team, specializes in buffing and healing the entire team while also dealing amazing Nihil damage to enemies when she is on the field.

Nirvatia: Dirge’s gameplay is relatively simple in nature as she is an Amplifier character: she specializes in quickly taking the field to deal damage to enemies while healing and buffing the entire team whenever her abilities connect with enemies. 

Nirvatia’s gameplay revolves around accumulating her signature energy by pinging orbs and gathering up energy when attacking enemies while she is on the field to allow her to unleash her powerful Bloodhunt Form by using her Signature Move. While attacking enemies when not in her Bloodhunt Form, Nirvatia is able to accumulate large amounts of Omen-Grief Value and spend them while pinging orb to quickly gain Signature Energy and allow her to enter her Signature Mode quicker.

When in her Bloodhunt Form, upon activating her signature, Nirvatia: Dirge gains additional Red Orbs that allows her to quickly deal damage to enemies with 3-pings and accumulate even more energy to allow her to unleash her powerful Signature Move, dealing massive amounts of Nihil damage and exits the Bloodhunt Form.

Should You Roll

No, You Should Not. While it is very tempting to roll on Nirvatia: Dirge banner to get extra copies of her and her signature weapons and CUB while getting Limited R&D Tickets returns once you reach certain milestones, it is not recommended for players to roll on this special Crucible banner at all.

For once, the pity of this banner does not carry over to future banners, so players will need to commit to rolling at least 60 times to get Nirvatia: Dirge on the banner. Secondly, Nirvatia: Dirge alongside her signature weapon and CUB are available completely for free during the A Better Tomorrow Update Patch, with players being able to obtain and upgrade her up to SS Rank completely without effort, which is her main support breakpoint for low spenders, making it less valuable to roll for her on her banner. Additionally, as Nirvatia: Dirge is an Amplifier character, her shards will be added to the Voucher Shop very quickly, allowing players to further upgrade her without spending any premium currencies as long as they spend time and effort while playing the game.

Therefore, players should save their pulls and not roll on this banner for Nirvatia: Dirge unless you want to dominate the game’s meta much earlier than others by spending some extra premium currencies.
