Punishing Gray Raven Withering Crown Update Patch – Everything You Need To Know

Starting from the 3rd of February, 2025, The Withering Crown Update Patch is Punishing Gray Raven’s new update patch after the Sightline Breach Update Patch. This update patch runs for 6 weeks, until the 17th of March, 2026 and features a whole host of gameplay updates, events and the release of a brand new S Rank Construct – Rosetta: Arete.

New Story Chapter & Special Construct Story

With the release of a brand new update patch, players will be treated with a brand new Main Story Chapter, aptly named Withering Crown. Players will be able to participate in the new chapter and find out the story behind Rosetta’s brand new Frame Arete and her role in the brand new main story arc of Punishing Gray Raven.

By going through to the new main story chapter, players will also be able to obtain a decent amount of Black Cards and character upgrading materials as well. 

Additionally to the main story chapter, players will be able to clear a special construct story to test out the brand new S Rank Construct Rosetta: Arete and obtain Special Limited R&D Tickets for a limited time.

Special Log In Campaign

To commemorate the release of the update patch and the new year, by logging into the game during specific days, players will have the chance to obtain event exclusive items, including a large amount of R&D Limited Tickets to roll for Limited characters.

From the 17th of February till the 19th of February, logging into the game for a total of 3 days to obtain 888 R&D Limited tickets, 8 Serum bottles and 88888 Cogs. If players do not log during the specified period, you won’t be able to obtain the mail containing the items, so please take note of the days and log into the game on these days.

Additionally, a special separate log in event will also be available for players to participate in ,requiring you to log in for a total of 14 days to obtain a special Coating for the A Rank Construct Discord: Secator.

Special Missions & Free S Rank Contruct Selector

During the Withering Crown Update Patch, finish certain special missions by completing update patch specific events to obtain large amount of rewards, including 1000 R&D Limited Tickets, 2500 R&D Standard tickets and a Free S Rank Selector (untill Ishmael: Parhelion)

The S Rank Selector will last until the end of the update patch once obtained and will contain all S Rank Characters released from the start of the game until Ishmael: Parhelion.

Missions will be unlocked gradually every week during the update patch, with players needing to complete a certain amount of missions to obtain these amazing rewards, so be sure to log into the game and finish these missions to obtain a completely free S Rank ticket!

Spending Event

During the update patch’s period, players will be rewarded with a large amount of extra currencies and character upgrading currencies upon spending a set amount of Rainbow Cards.

Alongside the update patch, players will be introduced to the patch’s main rate up character and her rate up banner. This time the new S Rank character introduced is the S Rank Dark Breaker Construct Rosetta: Arete.

Rosetta: Arete

Rosetta: Arete is an S Rank Construct of the brand new Breaker class coming to Punishing Gray Raven. She is a Dark Breaker Construct that can deal both Dark Elemental damage and Ultima Slash Affix damage to enemies. She specializes in massively reducing enemies’ defenses while initiating constant QTE attacks, allowing her to deal amazing damage off-field while providing powerful armor shred and elemental/ affix damage resistance reduction on enemies, making them take more damage. Additionally, Rosetta: Arete’s on field damage is nothing to scoff at, making her suitable as the main DPS character for the Ultima Slash Affix team if players lack Vergil from the DMC collaboration event.

Rosetta: Arete is expected to fill the same role as Karen: Scire in the dark team as a Tank/QTE bot to boost the overall damage output of the Dark team massively, while also fills in the role of a Ultima Slash main DPS character with her amazing on field damage output when using Ultima Slash Affix damage.

In a Dark team, Rosetta: Arete’s main role will be shredding enemies Dark resistances and Super Armor with her amazing off field QTEs effects. One of the perks of the brand new Breaker class as well is that Rosetta: Arete has access to a brand new mechanic: Rechargeable QTE, meaning players can use her QTE multiple times in a damage window, allowing her to both deal massive amount of damage while also keeping up the Dark Element resistance reduction effect longer in Dark team when she is off field.

For the Ultima Slash team, she focuses on being an on-field DPS character with the ability to quickly consume her Orbs and 3-pings to deal constant damage to enemies and have the ability to drag enemies around, dealing constant Dark Elemental or Ultimate Slash Affix Damage to them. She serves as a replacement for Vergil as the Ultima Slash team’s main DPS option if players missed the DMC Collaboration event.

Not only is Rosetta: Arete an entire brand new type of Construct of an entire new class with amazing gimmicks and abilities, she also fills in 2 roles that 2 different teams desperately need: the Tank Role for Dark Elemental Team and the main DPS role for Ultima Slash team.
