During the Version Update 3.6 – Last And First Principles for Reverse: 1999, players will be able to have the chance to roll on several different rate up banners, featuring the brand new 6-Star character Enigma in addition to several returning characters.

Brand New Character Rate Up Banner – Enigma (July 2nd – July 23rd)

The main brand new rate up banner players can roll on is the rate up banner for the brand new 6-Star character introduced in version update 3.6 – Enigma.

Enigma is a 6-Star Arcanist of the Intellect Afflatus and is a character that specializes in preventing the team from taking damage while his powerful buff is active while also providing Dynamo stacks to fuel the team’s Electric Array, making him a powerful sustain and support character for the Dynamo Archetype team and any team that are in need of a sustain character.

Enigma’s skill kit and gimmick revolves around his Ciphertext stacks and Bastion effects, each with their own unique effects. Ciphertext is a special stack effect that functions essentially as extra Dynamo stacks for characters on the field. Whenever Dynamo is funneled into the Pulsing Field, each character can consume an additional amount of Ciphertext stacks on them to allow the Pulsing Field to gain additional Dynamo stacks. This, coupled with Enigma’s amazing ability to increase the maximum stacks of Dynamo on all characters and his powerful effect to constantly generates Dynamo stacks for the team makes him essentially a Dynamo generation machine, cutting down the time players need to funnel Dynamo stacks into the Pulsing Field in half and help keeps the field constantly active, providing the most powerful beneficial effects for the entire team with maxed out Pulsing Field level. 

Enigma’s other powerful effect is his Bastion effect, which functions similarly to a shield but can’t be stacked with other shield sources. While Enigma has Bastion on himself, all allies won’t take any damage from the enemies’ attacks and will be able to resist enemies’ control effects 4 times every turn. Additionally, if the enemies deal AoE damage to the team, the more allies they hit, the less Bastion they will reduce, in turns, rendering a lot of enemies’ damage useless against the team if the enemies can’t get rid of Enigma Bastion. This coupled with his amazing damage reduction effect while having Bastion makers Enigma an almost indestructible shield against any enemy attacks, allowing the entire team ample time to set up and deal powerful damage to enemies.

Finally, Enigma’s Ultimate allows him to enter a special field and grants the entire team powerful buff effects and removes the entire team’s debuffs. Once he gains enough Ultimate stacks, Enigma will also unleash a powerful attack against all enemies.

Should You Roll: Yes, absolutely. Enigma is an amazingly essential character for the Dynamo archetype team, whose main problem was that they can deal powerful damage but require too much time to set up and can’t survive for long due to their lack of sustain. With Enigma, both of these issues are completely rendered invalid, making Dynamo into one of the most powerful enabling engines in the entire game, regardless if players have a dedicated Dynamo DPS or not. With Enigma and Charon in the same team, players can turn any DPS and any team into a powerful Dynamo team that can benefit greatly from the buffs provided by the Pulsing Field.

Additionally, due to how universally powerful Enigma’s sustain and support buffs are, he can be used in almost any team that requires a hard sustain character, making him a very valuable character to have when building any team, to the point of rivaling Marsha’s ability to sustain teams easily.

6-Star Rate Up Selector Banner – Ripples On The Water (July 2nd – July 23rd)

Alongside the rate up banner for Enigma, another special banner will be available at roughly the same time: the Ripples On The Water 6-Star Character Selector Banner. On this banner, players will be able to select 1 among the 6 different 6-Star characters to be the rated up character: Recoleta, Tuesday, Isolde, Willow, Melania, Tooth Fairy.

Importantly, the first 6* character players obtained from this banner will be guaranteed to be the character they selected as the rate up character. However, in exchange for this, the pity of this banner will not carry over to other banners.

Recoleta is an amazing Ultimate team support character as having her will enable the team to constantly spam Ultimate without any hesitations. Her skill kit allows her to grant the team special buffs and extra Moxie when the team uses their Ultimate, which allow her to regenerate her own Moxie to use her own Ultimate while also allowing the others to spam their Ultimate. This effect is further enhanced with her brand new Euphoria.

Tuesday is a Poison team enabler and support character that became even stronger with the release of her Euphoria Buff. Tuesday is able to store allies’ Moxie stacks, inflict Poison stacks onto enemies and increases the overall Poison damage dealt to all enemies based on Poison stacks, helping to optimize the Poison team’s damage output as long as she is in the team.

Isolde is a core character of the Burn and Lingering Glow team. Isolde excels at inflicting enemies with massive amounts of Burn DoT debuffs with her abilities and follow up attacks, helping the Lingering Glow to build up their stacks extremely quickly. Additionally, Isolde also helps boost the team’s overall damage output by reducing enemies critical damage resistances.

Willow is another Poison enabler and Sub DPS character, capable of inflicting multiple stacks of Poison with her Incantation Skill and ability while also inflicting enemies with special debuffs that deals more Genesis damage to them, making her a core character for the Poison team.

Melania is a character that serves as a universal support character for Ultimate oriented teams, with her amazing generic effects that allows the team to steal Moxie from enemies by attacking them. Melania herself excels at gaining a massive amount of Moxie for the entire team with her abilities and helps to supplement the team with her own Ultimate damage output.

Tooth Fairy is an Arcanist that serves as a support and enabler for the different Impromptu teams. She provides the team with powerful Impromptu Incantation damage buff in addition to being able to provide healing to the team, allowing her to be slotted in as a secondary support and sustain for both the Plant Impromptu and the Star Impromptu teams.

Among the 6 6-star characters on rate up, the ones with the most benefits that players will find are Isolde for the Burn and Lingering Glow team as she is a core component to make the team works and Tooth Fairy for the Impromptu team, with her new Euphoria buff allowing her to become a very strong enabler and damage support for both the Star and Plant variation of the team.

For the other 4 6-star characters, both Tuesday and Willow can be considered only if players are intending on building a Poison team alongside Ramona. Recoleta and Melania are universal support characters that support the Ultimate centric teams, so if players want generic support characters, getting them is not a bad idea either, although players should take note that Melania is available to obtain in a lot of other ways, making her less desirable to roll on this banner.

6-Star Rerun Banner – Barcarola (June 30th – July 14th)

The last major banner that players should focus on during Reverse: 1999 Version update 3.6 is the rerun banner featuring the 6-star characters – Barcarola. During this banner, she will have their appearance chance increased and players can guarantee her by rolling at most 2 6-Star Characters on her rate up banner.

Barcarola is a 6-star Arcanist of the Star Afflatus of the Impromptu archetype and specializes in generating Inspiration for the team while also buffing the entire team.

Barcarola is the Impromptu team’s main DPS option with her ability to constantly gain Eureka whenever an ally uses an Attack skill and her ability to distribute Inspiration towards Attacking Skills, allowing her to power up the Impromptu Skill very quickly. 

She is a core character for the the usual Star Impromptu due to how she can direct the Star Impromptu Incantation towards the correct enemies and focuses on the team’s damage towards a single enemy

Should You Roll: It Depends. Barcarola is one of the core DPS characters for the Star Impromptu team and is one of the most important characters if players want to build that team. However, please note that the Star Impromptu Team requires very rigid team-building, so unless players already have other teammates for Barcarola to make her team, rolling for her is not recommended.
