What Is The Limbo Gamemode

Limbo is one of Reverse: 1999’s important Endgame modes, functioning somewhat similarly to Honkai Star Rail’s Memory of Chaos gamemode.

In this game mode, players will need to challenge different stages within a certain amount of turns and without any team members dying in order to obtain star ratings and obtain rewards based on how many star they have collected every cycle. There are multiple Limbo stages, with each stage containing 2 challenges. Whenever a challenge within a stage is cleared, the team that was used to challenge that stage will be locked, requiring players to have at least 2 fully built teams in order to challenge the hardest stages in Limbo.

– Limbo Buff Effect: At the start of the round, if under an Array, enemies damage taken +25% and genesis damage taken +25% for 1 round.

Analysis: This buffs essentially allows players to deal more damage to all enemies extremely well as long as you use a team with a character that can set up an Array effect on the field.

– Phase 1 Enemy Gimmicks: When the boss enemy has Stats Up or Positive Status Buffs, they deal increased damage. Additionally, their Ultimate Cost is reduced.

When an enemy’s HP is reduced to below 40%, the mob enemy will heals the entire enemy side and buff the enemy’s side with a damage reduction buff.

Analysis: This stage gimmick requires players to bring a team with powerful and consistent burst damage to quickly take out the mob enemies so that they don’t heal the bosses. Mob Enemies will dodge 1 attack at the start of each turn. Whenever they attack, they will deal less damage but make the main target of their attacks lose a massive amount of HP.

This team is also one of the best teams players can use to tackle this phase, as this team not only takes full advantage of the Genesis Damage buff from the Limbo buff effect, it can also gradually take down enemies relatively easily.
