What Are Negative Status Teams

In Wuthering Waves, negative statuses are considered a debuff that can be inflicted on the enemies to help facilitate the different characters’ skill kit and abilities, with a subset of characters in the game has their entire gameplan and skill kit revolving around inflicting these Negative Statuses on the enemies to make use of them and deal powerful damage. Players should note that while these negative statuses can generally be considered DoT debuffs, their DoT damage is not that high and generally doesn’t contribute much aside from being a mark on the enemies for characters to use to facilitate their playstyles.

There are a total of 6 different Negative Statuses in Wuthering Waves, corresponding with the 6 different attributes in the game: Fusion Burst, Glacio Chafe, Aero Erosion, Electro Flare, Spectro Frazzle and Havoc Bane. – Lucilla: Lucilla is the Glacio Chafe primary enabler and sub DPS character, capable of inflicting multiple stacks of Glacio Chafe onto enemies and increasing the team’s damage against enemies with Glacio Chafe.

– Aemeath: One of Aemeath’s 2 forms allows her to deal Fusion Burst damage to enemies, making her the premium main DPS option for the Fusion Burst team.

– Denia: One of Denia’s 2 forms allows her to inflict Fusion Burst stacks on enemies and increases the team’s Fusion Burst damage output, making her the prime Fusion Burst Sub DPS/ Support character.

– Electro Rover: Currently the only facilitator and DPS for the Electro Flare Negative Status.

– Cartethyia: Cartethyia is the premium Aero Erosion Main DPS character, capable of dealing devastating HP-based damage to enemies based on the Aero Erosion stacks on them.

– Ciaccona: Ciaccona is the Aero Erosion team’s main enabler with her amazing ability to inflict multiple stacks of Aero Erosion onto enemies while she is off-field. Ciaccona can also be a Spectro Frazzle enabler due to her dual effects allowing the players to choose to use her to inflict Aero Erosion or Spectro Frazzle stacks onto enemies. However Ciaccona excel more as a Aero Erosion enabler than a Spectro Frazzle enabler.

– Aero Rover: Aero Rover is a dedicated Support Sustain character for Cartethyia in her Aero Erosion team.

– Zani: Zani is the premium Spectro Frazzle Main DPS option with her ability to gains Forte Gauge when she converts enemies’ Spectro Frazzle stacks into her own unique effects.

– Phoebe: Phoebe is the Spectro Frazzle team’s main enabler and sub DPS character. She is capable of switching between 2 forms, with 1 form being a damage form that deals enhanced damage against enemies with Spectro Frazzle, while the other form allows her to deal less damage but inflict multiple Spectro Frazzle stacks on enemies with ease. Phoebe is often used more for her 2nd form as a Spectro Frazzle enabler.

– Spectro Rover: Spectro Rover acts as a substitute option for Phoebe or Ciaccona that can provide Spectro Frazzle stacks on enemies.

– Yangyang: Xuanling: Yangyang: Xuanling is the Havoc Bane premium Main DPS option, with her ability to inflict and consume Havoc Bane stacks on enemies to deal powerful Havoc Bane damage to them.

– Chisa: Chisa is one of the game’s generic Negative Status team support/sustain character, capable of increasing the maximum Negative Status stacks on enemies and enhances the team’s damage against enemies with Negative Status effects. She can also inflict Havoc Bane and deal good damage on her own.

– Suisui: The newest edition to the Negative Status teams and one of the best universal Negative Status teams support characters, capable of boosting the entire team’s damage while increasing the maximum stacks of Negative Status infliction on enemies and inflicting Glacio Chafe on enemies. Suisui is slightly better than Chisa if the team consumes the Negative Status stacks on enemies to deal damage.

Main DPS: Hiyuki is the de facto and premium Main DPS option for the Glacio Chafe team, capable of dealing massive amounts of damage to enemies under the Glacio Chafe Negative Status. She requires 2 party members that can inflict Glacio Chafe or Havoc Bane as teammates to optimize her damage output.

Sub DPS/ Support: Lucilla is the team’s primary Sub DPS/ Support character, capable of boosting the team’s damage against enemies with Glacio Chafe and is able to inflict Glacio Chafe herself.

Support/ Sustain: Suisui is the best support/sustain slot in this team, with her being able to boost the entire team’s damage against the enemies with Negative Statuses while also inflicting Glacio Chafe on enemies. She can be substituted with Chisa but only Chisa as she is the only other character that can fulfill Hiyuki’s passive effect.

Fusion Burst Team

Main DPS: Aemeath is the only and premium Main DPS option for the Fusion Burst team, capable of dishing out powerful damage against enemies with Fusion Burst on them.

Sub DPS/ Support: Denia is the primary sub DPS/ Support for the Fusion Burst team when she is in the Fusion Burst mode, capable of inflicting multiple stacks of Fusion Burst on the enemies and enhances Fusion Burst damage with her outro skill.

Support/ Sustain: Chisa is the better Negative Status support option for this team with her ability to boost the team’s damage against enemies with Negative Status. Suisui can be a substitute, however, Chisa’s buffs are more potent for this team than Suisui’s

Aero Erosion Team

Main DPS: Cartethyia is the Aero Erosion main DPS option as she is able to deal powerful HP-based damage to enemies, especially when they are inflicted with Aero Erosion.

Sub DPS/ Support: Ciaccona is the main Aero Erosion enabler with her amazing ability to inflict multiple stacks of Aero Erosions on enemies when she is off-field

Support/ Sustain: Aero Rover is the best support for the Aero Erosion team, especially when they are with Cartethyia as they can provide the Aero Erosion teams a lot of good buffs.

Spectro Frazzle Team

Sub DPS/ Support:  Phoebe is the team’s sub DPS and enabler, as she is able to inflict multiple stacks of Spectro Frazzle to enemies extremely quickly, allowing her to fill Zani’s gauge quickly.

Sub DPS/ Support: Spectro Rover serves as the team’s secondary Sub DPS and enabler, capable of controlling enemies and inflicting Spectro Frazzle on enemies. If players want to have a sustain option instead, Suisui, Chisa or Shorekeeper can instead be filled in this spot.
