Wuthering Waves Tune Teams – How To Play And Everything To Note

What Are Tune Teams

Officially introduced in Wuthering Waves version 3.0, the Off-Tune Combat mechanic is another special gameplay mechanic added to all enemies in the game to help Resonators deal more damage and apply special Tune Break mechanics on enemies to trigger additional effects on the enemies.

Off-Tune is mostly signifies using a white bar under the enemies’ HP bar and a circle next to their HP bar, with the majority of Elite and Above enemies having the bar that players must attack into in order to reduce.

When attacking enemies with any kind of damage, the Off-Tune gauge will be reduced proportional to the amount of damage your Resonator dealt, until the bar is completely depleted. Once this is accomplished, a special prompt will appear in the middle of the enemies’ frame and activating this special prompt will allow the Resonator to use their Tune Break Skill, dealing damage to the enemy and putting them into the Mistuned state. In this state, the enemies will take more damage from Tune Break Effects, depending on what type of Tune Effects are used. For common mob enemies, they do not have the Off-Tune bar but will take Tune Break Damage after sustaining damage for a period of time directly.

The higher level and stronger the enemy, the larger the Off-Tune bar they will have and the more difficult it is for Resonators to inflict Tune Break on them. However, there are certain characters that specialize in quickly reducing the enemies’ Off-Tune Bar due to their skill kit’s abilities and overall efficiency. Additionally, constant quick attacks and high damage are generally preferred when trying to inflict Tune Break on enemies, so characters with quick and multi hit abilities can inflict Tune Break a slight bit easier.

After inflicting Tune Break on the enemies and putting them into the Mistune State, depending on characters’ Tune Type, Tune Shifting can be inflicted on the enemies to change the Mistune state on enemies into 3 different Tune Respond Types: Tune Strain, Tune Rupture and Tune Hack.

Important Tune Strain Characters

Tune Strain is a mechanic that increases the characters’ overall damage against enemies under the Tune Strain Effect based on the Tune Break stat of the characters. This effect serves as an overall damage boost to the characters’ abilities rather than an damage instance, unlike Tune Rupture.

Some notable Tune Strain Characters includes:

Wuthering Waves Luuk Herssen

– Luuk Herssen: Luuk Herssen functions primarily as a Basic Attack centric Tune Strain DPS characters, capable of boosting damage against enemies inflicted with Tune Strain to optimize his damage output against them.

Wuthering Waves Qingxiao

– Qingxiao: The new Tune Strain DPS character in the game, Qingxiao is a character that can inflict additional special statuses onto enemies whenever they are inflicted with Tune Strain, massively boosting her damage output against enemies with her own debuffs and the Tune Strain effect.

Wuthering Waves Denia

– Denia: The primary sub DPS and support character for the Tune Strain teams as she can massively boost the Tune Strain damage of allies massively with her outro skill.

Wuthering Waves Lynae

– Lynae: One of the 2 modes for Lynae allows her to deal Tune Strain damage against enemies, making her an optional Tune Strain Sub DPS and Support, as her ability also increases the Tune Break damage of the team.

Wuthering Waves Mornye

– Mornye: The essential Tune Support/ Sustain character that helps boost the damage output of any Tune-based team due to her powerful effects.

Important Tune Rupture Characters

Tune Rupture is a mechanic that allows the characters to deal a big instance of damage when Tune Break is inflicted onto enemies, allowing the team to deal additional high damage instances to enemies. This effect serves as powerful nuke damage instances instead of a gradual damage increase like Tune Strain.

Some notable Tune Rupture Characters includes:

Wuthering Waves Aemeath

– Aemeath: The prime Tune Rupture DPS character, capable of dealing massive amounts of Tune Rupture and Fusion damage to enemies when inflicting Tune Break.

Wuthering Waves Lynae

– Lynae: One of Lynae’s 2 modes allows her to inflict Tune Rupture on enemies, dealing big instances of damage. She serves as the main Sub DPS/ Support for the Tune Rupture team.

Wuthering Waves Mornye

– Mornye: The essential Tune Support/ Sustain character that helps boost the damage output of any Tune-based team due to her powerful effects.

Important Tune Hack Characters

Tune Hack or Hack is a special Tune mechanic exclusive to Cyberpunk Collaboration Characters in Wuthering Waves. Tune Hack inflicts enemies with the Data Crash effect, staggering them for 0.5s when it is triggered and allowing Lucy and Rebecca to deal more damage to Data Crash enemies.

The only characters with the Tune Hack effects are:

Wuthering Waves Lucy

– Lucy: The main DPS character for the Tune Hack team as she can consistently inflict Tune Hack and benefits greatly from it.

Wuthering Waves Rebecca

– Rebecca: The Sub DPS and Support character for the Tune Hack team as her effects can enhance the damage she and Lucy deals to Tune Hack enemies.

Wuthering Waves Tune Teams – Best Meta Tune Teams

Now that we have gone over the Tune-based mechanics in Wuthering Waves, here are all of the most meta Tune Teams players can make in Wuthering Waves to challenge all of the game’s endgame contents:

Premium Tune Strain Team

QingxiaoDeniaMornye
Main DPSSub DPS/ SupportSupport/ Sustain

This is the Tune Strain premium team, with all the characters being able to massively boost the damage output of the Tune Strain Main DPS character to allow them to deal massive amounts of damage to enemies while the enemies are inflicted with Tune Strain

Main DPS: Luuk Herssen and Qingxiao are the main DPS options for this team, with both of them performing relatively similarly to each other. Luuk Herssen’s damage rotation is slightly more difficult to execute but yields slightly better damage overall, while Qingxiao damage rotation is very simple but requires more investment to yield higher damage output.

Sub DPS/ Support: Denia is the premium option for this slot as she can both provide additional Tune Strain damage and powerful damage support effects to the team with her abilities and outro skill. Lynae can also fill this role to a lesser extent thanks to her overall decently good buffs as well.

Support/ Sustain: Mornye is, of course, the best support sustain slot for any Tune teams with her amazing ability to boost the team’s Tune stats and enhance the team’s Tune damage output while providing amazing sustain effects. Other premium sustain characters can fill her role but will perform worse like Shorekeeper or Verina.

Premium Tune Rupture Team

AemeathLynaeMornye
Main DPSSub DPS/ SupportSupport/ Sustain

This is the Tune Rupture Premium team with Aemeath being the team’s main DPS character that can nuke enemies with her powerful skill kit that can deal incredible nuke damage to enemies.

Main DPS: Aemeath is currently the only premium Tune Rupture main DPS character and is the the best DPS character for the Tune Stain team, capable of dealing massive amounts of damage in big instances when fully supported by other Tune support characters.

Sub DPS/ Support: Lynae is the Tune Rupture team’s primary sub DPS and Support character with her Tune Rupture mode allowing her to both deal decently high Tune Rupture damage but also provide amazing buffs to Aemeath.

Support/Sustain: Mornye is, of course, the best support sustain slot for any Tune teams with her amazing ability to boost the team’s Tune stats and enhance the team’s Tune damage output while providing amazing sustain effects. Other premium sustain characters can fill her role but will perform worse like Shorekeeper or Verina.

Premium Tune Hack Team

LucyRebeccaMornye
Main DPSSub DPS/ SupportSupport/ Sustain

Players should only play the Tune Hack team if they have both Lucy and Rebecca from the Cyberpunk Collaboration Event. Otherwise, this team is not recommended for normal players.

Main DPS: The main DPS option for this team is of course the main Tune Hack DPS option Lucy, with her skill kits gaining amazing benefits whenever she attacks enemies inflicted with Tune Hack.

Sub DPS/ Support: The sub DPS/ Support character for this team is Rebecca, with her ability to enhance Lucy’s damage output while supplementing her damage by inflicting constant Tune Hack on enemies.
