Zenless Zone Zero 3.2 Version 3.2 is about to split your Polychrome pile in half, and the first question every Anomaly Proxy is asking is the same one. Should you pull Nangong Yu in ZZZ 3.2, or do you gamble on Claret’s brand-new Armorer kit and hope the rerun comes back later? If you missed her debut, this is her first return. If you already own her, the real debate is whether Neon Fantasies is still worth the extra tapes while a new class is launching on the same phase. This guide answers that pull, skip, or wait call with the roster you actually have.

If you already know you want her or you are staring at a 50/50 and need more Encrypted Master Tapes before Phase 1 closes, top up Zenless Zone Zero through Enjoygm. It is a fast UID recharge route for Monochrome and Inter-Knot Membership, which means you can convert savings into actual pulls instead of watching pity tick up empty-handed.
Should You Pull Nangong Yu in Zenless Zone Zero 3.2?
Yes for most Anomaly accounts. Not automatically yes for everyone.
Nangong Yu is still an S+ Ether Stun Agent in Version 3.2. She remains the specialist who lets Anomaly teams play like stun-burst squads: fast Daze, a long stun window, teamwide damage, Abloom, and Polarity Disorder that does not wipe the anomaly already on the enemy. That package has not been replaced by Claret.

Claret is a different job entirely and to make a quick decision, you can follow this table:
| Account type | Pull Nangong Yu? | Why |
| You main Miyabi, Aria, Promeia, Alice, Jane, Yanagi | Pull | She is still their best stun-shaped partner |
| You own Yuzuha but no premium stun for Anomaly | Pull | They stack; they do not cancel each other |
| You missed her 2.7 debut and run Anomaly | High priority | First rerun; next wait is unknown |
| You already have M0 Nangong and want ceiling | W-Engine first | Signature beats extra Mindscapes |
| You want the new Armorer class / Electric DPS | Claret first | Different role, different future |
| You only play Attack / Rupture and hate Anomaly | Skip | Her value is concentrated in Anomaly shells |
Is Nangong Yu still worth pulling: if Anomaly is even one of your two endgame teams, she is still worth the tapes. If you are building Claret-Roxy from zero and your Anomaly side already clears Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault comfortably, you can wait.
What Version 3.2 Actually Puts on the Table
ZZZ Version 3.2, Their Secret Histories, launches September 9, 2026. Phase 1 runs through September 30. And with it, we will be getting:
- Claret — S-Rank Electric Armorer, banner Bloodmoon Rising
- Nangong Yu — S-Rank Ether Stun rerun, banner Axiom of Captivation
- Signature engines run beside them: Crimson Thirst for Claret, Neon Fantasies for Nangong Yu
- Phase 2 (from September 30) swaps in Roxy (Wind Stun) and a Promeia rerun
That calendar is the whole pull problem. Nangong Yu and Claret share the same three-week window. Promeia, the Ice Anomaly carry who loves Nangong’s stun window, is not on Phase 1. If you need both Nangong Yu and Promeia, you are planning two patches of spending, not one.
Version 3.2 also hands out a free Heartfelt Support outfit for Nangong Yu through the Surprise Screening Plan if you pick her. That is flavor, not power, but it is extra value if you already like the Angels of Delusion look.
Who Nangong Yu Is in Zenelss Zone Zero 3.2
Nangong Yu is the captain of Angels of Delusion: S-Rank, Ether, Stun. On paper she is a stunner. In practice she is an Anomaly engine wearing a Stun label.

Her kit still does four things other stunners do not package together:
- Anomaly Mastery into Impact: Every point of Anomaly Mastery above 100 converts into Impact (0.8 per point). You build her like an Anomaly unit and she stuns faster because of it.
- Polarity Disorder: Nangong can trigger Disorder-style damage without consuming the anomaly already on the target. Miyabi keeps Fallen Frost. Promeia keeps her Abloom setup. The window does not reset the board.
- Abloom / Vibrato: Stunned enemies pick up marks; those marks pay out extra anomaly burst instead of sitting there as unused gauge.
- Team damage plus buildup: Roughly 20–25% squad DMG with high uptime, extra Anomaly Buildup Rate on stunned targets, a short stun extension, and a fatter stun damage multiplier.
That is why older “just use Lycaon” advice aged poorly. Lycaon stuns. Nangong Yu stuns and feeds the anomaly loop. If you want the full rotation, skill priority, disc stats, and engine ranking after you pull her, you can follow our Nangong Yu build guide as the companion piece to this pull article.
Is Nangong Yu Still Worth Pulling After Claret?
Is Nangong Yu still worth pulling in a patch that launches a new Specialty? Yes because Claret does not occupy her slot.
Claret is an Electric Armorer. Her kit is Maim, Gash, Laceration, DEF scaling, and a Counter Assist that can shut down Control skills. She wants Armorer partners, DEF/CRIT discs, and a future Roxy pairing. She is a main-DPS investment into a brand-new class. Nangong Yu is a support-shaped stunner for Anomaly. You do not swap one for the other the way you swap two Ice carries.
Nangong Yu vs Claret Comparison
| Factor | Nangong Yu | Claret |
| Role | Ether Stun / Anomaly enabler | Electric Armorer DPS |
| What she upgrades | Miyabi, Aria, Promeia, Alice, Jane | A new Electric / Armorer core |
| Team flexibility | Any Anomaly carry + Yuzuha or Sunna | New class; Roxy later in 3.2 |
| M0 completeness | Strong at M0; engine is the spike | Looks complete at M0 as a DPS |
| Future-proofing | Already proven across 2.7–3.1 Anomaly | High upside if Armorer is pushed |
| Skip risk | You delay every Anomaly team’s ceiling | You miss the new class on launch |
Pull Nangong Yu over Claret if Anomaly is how you clear endgame today.
Pull Claret over Nangong Yu if you already own Nangong (or do not play Anomaly) and you want the new class on day one.
Pull both only if your tape count survives two limited S-Ranks plus at least one signature.
Newer accounts should be honest here. Buying into Armorer from zero and buying Nangong Yu plus Neon Fantasies in the same phase is how pity accounts go broke before Phase 2 Roxy/Promeia.
Nangong Yu vs Yuzuha: They Are Not the Same Pull
This comparison shows up in every comment section because both units “enable Anomaly.” They do it from different chairs.
Yuzuha is a Physical Support. She feeds ATK, Anomaly Buildup, Attribute Anomaly DMG, Disorder DMG, and energy. She is the buffer you leave in the third slot.
Nangong Yu is the Stun slot. She creates the window, extends it, multiplies stun damage, applies Ether, triggers Polarity Disorder, and still throws personal Abloom damage.
Owning Yuzuha does not make Nangong Yu less valuable. It usually makes her more valuable. You can:
- Run Miyabi / Nangong Yu / Yuzuha as one premium core
- Split them across two Anomaly teams so both sides of Deadly Assault have a real engine
- Pair Nangong Yu with Sunna on the Angels of Delusion side and keep Yuzuha on Miyabi or Promeia
If you are forced to choose one name with a starved account, the question is which slot is empty:
- No premium Anomaly support → Yuzuha first
- No premium Anomaly stunner → Nangong Yu first
- You have one and not the other → pull the missing piece in 3.2 if it is Nangong; wait for a Yuzuha rerun if that is the hole
Nangong Yu vs Yuzuha is a roster-building question, not a “who powercrept whom” question. They stack.
Does Miyabi Need Nangong Yu?
Do we need them? No. Miyabi still clears with Yuzuha, Vivian, Yanagi, Soukaku, or even Nicole if your mechanics are clean.
Want, by a wide margin? Yes. Miyabi’s best modern shell is Miyabi + Nangong Yu + Yuzuha. Nangong Yu is the stunner that actually speaks Miyabi’s language: Polarized Disorder generates Fallen Frost without deleting the anomaly Miyabi wants to keep cycling, the stun window lets her dump enhanced basics, and the team DMG buff sits on a carry who already scales like a monster. This trio can be considered as the headline team heading into 3.2.
What Miyabi does not need is for you to bankrupt the account on Nangong Mindscapes before Miyabi’s own engine and discs are finished. M0 Nangong Yu already changes how the team feels. Signature is the next spike. Copies after that are luxury.
If your Miyabi team is already hitting comfortable Deadly Assault scores with Yuzuha + an older stunner, Nangong Yu is an upgrade, not a rescue. If Miyabi is stalling on stun timing or Fallen Frost upkeep, she is the missing gear.
Does Promeia Need Nangong Yu?
Same answer goes here, louder on the scoreboard. Promeia is an Ice Anomaly carry built around Shatters, Ablooms, and Corrosive Chill. Nangong Yu’s Polarity Disorders and Ablooms feed that gauge. Promeia’s frequent EX Specials also keep Phaethon’s Melody rolling. The premium line is Promeia + Nangong Yu + Yuzuha (Sunna is the Angels-flavored substitute). Vivian is the closest alternative if you refuse to pull a stunner.
Does Promeia need Nangong Yu to function? No. Vivian + Yuzuha still works. Lycaon + Soukaku still works for a budget Ice shell.
Does Promeia need Nangong Yu if you want the version of her that made people call her a Miyabi-class problem? That is the team that posted the higher Deadly Assault samples on release, and it is the team that turns her burst windows into five-stun routes instead of awkward off-stun spending.
Phase 2 of 3.2 reruns Promeia. That is the hidden calendar trap: pulling only Claret in Phase 1 and then realizing you still want Nangong Yu and Promeia is how accounts get stuck. If Promeia is your Ice plan, Nangong Yu on this rerun is the cheaper long-term move.
M0W0 vs M0W1: Is the Signature Worth It?
This is the second-most important decision on the banner.
M0W0 (character only, no Neon Fantasies) is already a real Agent. She stuns, she buffs, she triggers Polarity Disorder, she works in the Nangong Yu best team shells listed below. Casual Shiyu stars and “I just want 20k in Deadly Assault” goals do not require the engine.
M0W1 is the version theorycrafters mean when they say she is a must-pull. Neon Fantasies is not “another Impact club.” It is the only Stun W-Engine that gives her the Anomaly stats her kit actually converts:
- +90 Anomaly Proficiency
- 30% Anomaly Mastery on the weapon
- 15% squad DMG per stack (up to 2) when she deals Ether through EX or Basic
- +60 more Anomaly Proficiency at two stacks
Every other Stun engine gives Impact %. Her Core Passive already turns Mastery into Impact. Signature feeds the stat she actually wants, then hangs a team damage aura on top of the 25% she already carries in-kit. The gap is large enough that investment should be ranked as Weapon >>> Mindscape 1 > Mindscape 2.
Investment Outcomes
| Investment | What you get | Who it is for |
| M0W0 | Full kit, strong stun, real buffs, weaker personal damage and slower anomaly scaling | F2P, “just need the body,” already own Hellfire Gears / Fossilized Core |
| M0W1 | Best version of the character for the cost; team DMG + AP/AM that no 4-star copies | Anyone serious about Anomaly scores |
| M1 / M2 | RES shred and extra stun-window damage | Whales after the engine is locked |
| Hellfire Gears / The Restrained / Precious Fossilized Core | Playable substitutes | Holding for a later Neon Fantasies rerun |
Signature worth it? If you can only afford one extra limited item after the character, buy Neon Fantasies before M1. If tapes are tight after winning the 50/50, stop at M0W0 and build Phaethon’s Melody correctly rather than forcing a broken 50/50 on the engine banner.
This is also the moment to top up if you are one engine short of the build you actually want. Grabbing Monochrome through Enjoygm before the Axiom of Captivation window closes is a lot less painful than watching Neon Fantasies leave and knowing the next rerun date is a rumor.

Nangong Yu Best Team Options in ZZZ 3.2
Nangong Yu best teams all follow one shell: Anomaly carry + Nangong Yu + buffer.

1. Angels of Delusion (Nangong “home” team)
- Aria — Ether Anomaly carry
- Nangong Yu — stun, Abloom, Polarity Disorder, team DMG
- Sunna — Ether Veil, ATK, off-field sustain
This is the faction complete-the-set team and still one of the most comfortable anomaly-stun loops in the game. If you already own Aria and Sunna, skipping Nangong Yu on this rerun is leaving the squad unfinished. The Angels of Delusion team guide walks the exact role split if you want the full rotation after you pull her.
2. Miyabi Premium
- Hoshimi Miyabi
- Nangong Yu
- Yuzuha (Astra Yao or Nicole if Yuzuha is on the other side)
This team will be the best answer to “does Miyabi need Nangong Yu” in practical clears.
3. Promeia Premium
- Promeia
- Nangong Yu
- Yuzuha or Sunna
If you want a clear answer to “does Promeia need Nangong Yu”, this is the best solution if you care about stun-count routes and Abloom uptime.
4. Flexible Anomaly Cores
- Alice / Jane Doe / Yanagi / Velina + Nangong Yu + Yuzuha
- Double-anomaly is possible, but a dedicated support in slot three usually beats a second carry because Nangong Yu already supplies a huge amount of buildup and personal damage.
Bangboo follow the team’s anomaly color: Ether-aligned options on the Angels side, Ice options with Miyabi or Promeia, and a generalist Knightboo if you are mixing attributes.
Who Should Pull, Who Should Skip
| Pull Nangong Yu in ZZZ 3.2 if you | Missed her 2.7 banner and play any Anomaly carryAlready have Aria and Sunna and want the finished Angels coreRun Miyabi or Promeia and your stun slot is still Lycaon, Qingyi, or a 4-starCan afford M0 and are willing to live on Fossilized Core / Hellfire Gears until the engine returnsWant a second Deadly Assault team that does not steal Yuzuha from the first |
| Skip or delay if you | Do not play Anomaly and have no plan to startAlready own M0 Nangong Yu and your scores are fine, then save for Claret or Phase 2Are a new Proxy who needs a main DPS more than a specialist stunnerAre forcing both Claret and Nangong Yu plus two signatures on a F2P stash |
| Engine-only pullers | if you already have the character at M0 and 3.2 is your shot at Neon Fantasies, that is a valid use of Phase 1. M0W0 vs M0W1 is the upgrade that changes her from “great stunner” to “Anomaly system unit.” |
Conclusion
So, should you pull Nangong Yu in Zenless Zone Zero 3.2? If Anomaly pays your endgame bills, yes, get the body, then fight for the signature if tapes remain. Claret is the shiny new class and she is allowed to win the Phase 1 argument on accounts that already finished their Anomaly engine. Yuzuha is not her rival; she is her best roommate. Miyabi does not collapse without her, but her current best team has Nangong Yu’s name on the second slot. Promeia is in the same situation, and Promeia’s own rerun is only one phase away. Build her after you win the 50/50. Do not guess at discs and engines, just open the Zenless Zone Zero Nangong Yu Best Build Guide, lock Phaethon’s Melody, and put her in the team that actually matches the carry you already invested in.
